New Energy Rates not as OFGEM chart
On an earlier post I was made aware of a chart for energy prices from April 1 by OFGEM. Assuming Romford, Essex is either London or Eastern. The price of electric said the cap would be 32.1 SC and 29.63 unit or 37.9 (SC) and 29.24 unit. Those rates are with DD. I have my new quote from EON stating my new rate will be…

Bulb Price Increase
I've received an email from Bulb (or whoever it is now) about my monthly payments increasing in April, as expected. What I wasn't expecting was my payments to increase from around £150 a month to £300 a month. My balance drops slightly into debt towards the end of each winter (currently £22 in debt according to the app, so…

British Gas
Just went to check my billing and saw the both the invoices from when I left Peoples Energy had been cancelled and were reissued. Download of the statement was not possible and obtaining a paper copy was also not available. This probably explains why I was to have been £25 in credit at the end of the deal and now it reads I…

Shell Energy
Hi All I'm trying to help my partner out as he has received some massive gas bills. Basically he was with Green Energy, and they moved him over to Shell Energy and onto their flexible 6 tariff on the 27th September 21. They based the opening read on a deemed read, (apparently an actual read from Green) at the time he was…

E-on Next Revised Price Cap Rate Notice and Fixed Deals Offers
Good afternoon everyone, I have just received a communication from E-on regarding my rate rise and fixing deals, looking at the deals available to me, I am slightly confused. The rates per kwh seem very low on the fixed deals compared to my variable rate rise on 1st April, on the face of it, it would seem that at least one…

Which energy suppliers use Russian gas?
We are with Sainsbury's Energy who of course have a link up with NPower. Does anyone know which UK energy suppliers use Russian bought gas. I appreciate the UK's national gas consumption only uses around 5% of Russian gas, however, I don't want to be a customer of a company trading with them. I have tried to search online…

Boiling water
I drink GALLONS of coffee In excess of 20-30 cups per day. I swear I’m caffeine immune, I just enjoy the taste. I’m curious, is it cheaper to boil just what I need per cup or fill the kettle & decant into a flask; from which I make each cup? I have a few flasks & could easily reduce the frequency of kettle boiling by…

We were switched from Green to Shell in October. I am a member of MSE Energy Club so took the advice to do nothing and wait and see. Normally I switch every year to get best rates. We had to wait until just before Christmas for first bill was £560! Kept contacting them but they didn't have enough data to tell us monthly…

Possible to exceed potential EPC rating?
Hey Just wondering if it is ever possible to exceed the potential EPC rating on a house? I'm buying a house which is already EPC C which is decent enough, and it has potential to be EPC B, but I was wondering two things - How I would improve the EPC to a B - If it's possible to actually exceed what they say is potentially…

energy prices
Just got my new estimated payments from April this Year £322 per month, if i choose 2 year fixed tariff it's £330 per month. Considering another 20% increase on top of the new payments in October think the fixed tariff may be the best option. Any advice out there because people are saying wait and see what really happens.…
