Bulb introduction deals
Enquiring on behalf of a friend splitting with their partner and moving to an electric only flat with E7 metering in a month or so. Current occupier is paying £30pcm to BG and comparision sites say Bulb should be about £6 pcm less so looks favourable for my friend. I know they take DD up front and this is OK Not sure if…

New home - but no gas bill?
Hi all, I moved into my new build home around 6 months ago. I've received electricity bills since moving in, but no gas. I can't even see it on my eon account online, which is who I should be supplied by. (and yes - I definitely have a gas supply to the house ;) ) I've spoken to my neighbour, who moved in at a similar…

Bulb Energy - beware
If you are persuaded to switch to Bulb Energy because of substantial savings, please beware. Bulb requre you to pay for your energy IN ADVANCE, so in terms of cash flow you may be worse off. In my case, I was stopped in the supermarket and persuaded to sign up on the basis of a reduction from £55 p/m with British Gas to…

Energy supplier objection in new home
I've just moved to a new house and have asked my origional supplier to come along with me and begin the switch over process. However they have just contacted me to say the current supplier of the house (Avro) have objected. I can't see any valid reason for their objection we should just recieve a final bill from them when…

Immergas boilers
Opinions please? I had my boiler changed just last week and this was not a company that I came across. However it appears they have been offering "special deals" to "selected few" customers. The suspicious bit is that pensioners are targeted, and they are required to sign right away

new build. Meter position. Smart meter
The gas meter position means that I, in my 8th decade, have to kneel on the soil slightly downhill to read it. It looks better there than white boxes on a wall. My query is about smart meters and btw I was totally against but have come around wrt the readings being automatic to providers. There is a smart meter, was there…

I’m having a major mental breakdown, please help.
So this thing is seriously bothering me now and making me depressed because I just can’t seem to get it. It’s about the monthly direct debit payments. They say you pay estimates how does that work? Let’s say I switch the supplier on 01/01/2020 and give them my previous year’s usage (from 01/01/2019 to 31/12/2019) and they…

Changing tariff with same supplier
I asked to change to a different variable tariff (no exit fees or fixed term) with the same supplier. I thought as I wasn't changing supplier the change would be immediate, but I was told I would have to stay on the more expensive tariff for another two weeks until my usual billing date. Does anyone know if this is right?…

Swiching to Pure Planet
Hi! I very much hope someone can help me. I recently applied to switch to Pure Planet via the Cheap Energy Club. I was advised by Pure Planet a few days later that the switch was being blocked by the old suppler (btw this a property i have just bought/moved into). I found out who was supplying the energy to the property…

Time limit for refund following switch?
I wondered if there is a legal time limit for refunding credit following switching energy supplies? If so can someone please post me a link proving this? I switched at start of June and have confirmation new supplier passed over meter readings 22nd June, but yet to receive final bill or refund (which I think will be around…

Starting Readings - Electricity
Hello all, I recently moved into my property and it's been a nightmare with the electricity. I found out who the supplier was, and after telling them (Spark) about 10 times - they finally agreed that they were supplying my property. (They had been full on denying all knowledge of my property!!!) Anyway, we told them what…

~6 year old utilities bill
I've received a gas and electric bill that covers a period from 2013 to 2014 and a notification that it will be taken to court. So part of the bill is older than 6 years, and part isn't. It's my understanding that bills older than 6 years cannot be enforced. Where do I stand in this instance?

WE JUST WANT TO MOVE!!! Help
Hello, recently me and our partner bought a brand new home in Belfast. As we are both young first time buyers with a big deposit we were flying through the process. We have our offer and we’re told the paperwork is all ready to be signed then we arranged to go meet the solicitor to discuss a completion date. On the morning…

Dual MPAN
I just moved into my first property (as a homeowner) on Monday. I was about to register with Bulb but they tell me that because I have two MPANs this would incur an extra charge of 20.44p per day. The current supplier is Scottish Power. An electrician came out yesterday and said the electrics are very old - running on…

Ebico Zero Green Fixed v3
My current Ebico Zero Green Fixed v2 expires near the end of the year and I'm wondering whether to move to the new rate before Oct 31, or before any likely hike (as per YellowHammer warning - assuming they don't add some except clause????) Any views welcomed...
