Dual MPAN
I just moved into my first property (as a homeowner) on Monday.
I was about to register with Bulb but they tell me that because I have two MPANs this would incur an extra charge of 20.44p per day.
The current supplier is Scottish Power.
An electrician came out yesterday and said the electrics are very old - running on 16amp voltage and that I should update them.
A friend of mine has similar electrics and said ‘the big 5’ supply free smart meters which makes the old system safer(?)
I am planning on replacing the storage heating with gas but not until 2020.
So...should I stick with Scottish Power for now or make the move to Bulb (or someone else?).
I’ve read some of the similar posts on here...finding it all quite confusing. (I don’t know what an Economy 7 meter is but am fairly sure I don’t have one..)
Thanks,
Emer

Personally I would do nothing until you install GSH. Then get a standard meter installed and the 2nd MPAN disconnected.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Thanks Spiro, that’s really helpful.
So I guess just to continue with Scottish Power as is in the meantime?
