Gas Meter registered to wrong address
I wrote in the E.On thread about the fairly poor customer service received trying to get our gas sorted out on our new build property. Essentially there was some issue with registering the gas meter. I spoke to E.On in January & April and they advised they could see the issue and it would be resolved in roughly 6 weeks…

Exclusive 1 Year Fixed v2 tariff DEAL
Does anyone know about or have switched to the “Exclusive 1 Year Fixed v2 tariff” from SSE? Our tariff is due to end soon and when I just spoke to SSE customer services she said that this tariff was only available online via third parties and that you automatically accepted to have a smart meter installed by choosing this.…

EDF bill received 8 years on!
Hi, I just received a bill from EDF dating back to 2011! We bought an HMO and had the multiple meters removed and one single meter installed; they are saying that one of the accounts didn't get charged for the period before the meter was removed hence a bill for £265. Obviously I don't have any of the bills still for that…

Resolver or Ombudsman?
Hi all, Sorry for the length, I've tried to include all relevant details. Please can I ask your advice on whether I should take this issue directly to the Energy Ombudsman or try to use Resolver first. This issue has been on-going since October last year, so I am well past the 8 week period you have to wait between…

How can I rely on CEC for switching?
I received an email from the Cheap Energy Club saying I could save money by switching. When I ran the comparison it said I could save £155 a year. When I looked closely at the figures, I noticed CEC are using the wrong rates for my current supplier. The rates changed a couple of months ago. If I can’t trust Cheap Energy…

ExtraEnergy and threatening letters
Heard it all now. 84 year old father was with extra energy. Of course, they went bust last year and everyones account transferred to scottish power. They've not provided final bills until about a week ago. This week he gets a letter threatening to take him to court. No final bill, no breakdown, just a total.... Its not…

Changing Electric Companies To Avoid Leaving Fees?
My current fixed electricity contract expires on the 19 August, which I believe is in the time limit not to be charged an early leaving fee. I have found another electricity provider with the option to take out a new contract online. Is it normal procedure for a new contract to commence from the final date of the old…

Returning to British Gas - Smart Meters
Hi, I was with BG back in 2016 when they installed our smart meter. Following 2 switches with other providers, I'm now returning back to BG. The smart meters never worked after I left BG but I'm wondering how much functionality they will provide now I'm returning (they are the same units as per their current brochure).…

'British Gas' Electricity Meter Scam
BEWARE!! We received a phone call today purporting to be from British Gas. Our surname and address identified. The young man wished to arrange for us to be at home to have our current meter updated. Greenstar / Hudson energy use fabrication - move to bulb
When I joined Greenstar a couple years ago they refused to accept my electric meter reading. My previous supplier gave it to them and they disputed it and picked a different and lower number. We never really got to the bottom of this because they kept lying about the reasons for it, but eventually they settled on blaming…

Extortionate Final Bill / Direct Debit too low
I have recently completed a switch to EoN from British Gas. For context, I live in a new build property alone. I moved in last year, and British Gas were the provider assigned on the site. I have paid a direct debit every month, which increased slightly at the beginning of the year. In March 2018 I noticed 2 payments had…
