Energy Plus Protection Green Jun 2020 but no CH?
Hi I was going to suggest this tariff to my dad but they don't have central heating (elec heaters and gas fires only) but wondered if they would be ruled out because of the breakdown cover tie in. Anyone have any thoughts? Many thanks

SSE just doubled DD based on estimated usage
Hi all, Basically SSE have changed our direct debit effective immediately from £27 for gas and £37 for electricity per month to £49 and £59 based on our estimated usage. Our contract with them began in September 2018. The usage is for a 2 bed flat. We turn light switches off at the wall, are careful with lights and don't…

Scottish Power Charged me £3205 for Gas
I was a dual fuel customer with Scottish power up until the end of March where I decided to switch to a better deal with EDF. However, this is only the start of the story.. Back in February while still a Scottish Power customer I had a smart meter installed by them and I then transitioned to EDF at the end of March. Having…

DIY upgrade British Gas Smart Linked Thermostat to Hive?
Has anyone done a DIY upgrade of an old British Gas Smart Linked Thermostat to a Hive receiver? Do the two receivers require exactly the same cabling? Is it simply a question of removing the BG receiver, replacing it with the Hive receiver and reconnecting the same cables?

De-energising electricity meter in small rural church.
Hello..... We have 2 electricity meters in our church. 1 of them hasn’t used any electricity since at least 2010, i can’t get any information before that as British Gas have said they don’t hold records back to 2003 for this meter, when we changed to them from NPower. We are being charged a Standing Charge, if we…

To fix for 2 years or not to fix?
Hi, I'm coming to the end of my "Online Fix And Save June 2019 V2 tariff deal" with Scottish Power and they have written to offer me to move onto another deal, saying that with their "our two year Help Beat Cancer tariffs, you can protect your prices against future increasing energy costs up to May 2021." The monthly costs…

Energy company not been billing me
Hi, I have just found out that during my energy switch last year the new energy company (Solarplicity) did not set up my account correctly and therefore have not been charging me for gas for the entire year. If I had not called them to enquire they wouldn’t even know about this. My question is should it be down to me to…

Inaccurate energy bill!
My partner and I live in a 1 bedroom terraced house.. we were previously with Octopus energy, having now left, they’ve sent us our final bill - it’s extortionate! They’re trying to say we owe them £896.51! From April 2018 - March 2019. This is also with paying DD during that time. It’s just ridiculous, there’s 2 of us in…

Revised final bill
Hi, after some advice please. We recently moved out of rented accommodation in April. We contacted EON with a final meter reading. The representative on the phone told us that they would just use the estimate as the final reading we were giving them was quite a bit more than what they calculated, even though we insisted on…

Hot water tank - efficient use?
Hi, newbie so please be kind! I’ve just moved in to a rental house with a hot water tank and I’d be grateful for any advice on the most efficient way to use it. How long should I set the boiler to come in for to heat the whole tank? And how long will the tank stay hot for? At present I’ve got it set to come on 6am - 6:30am…

Switching to a different tariff with same dual fuel supplier
Quick (and probably stupid) question - Would there be any issues if I was to use one of the comparison websites to switch to a different tariff with my existing supplier? I've got quotes on 3 different comparison websites and my existing supplier is coming back as the cheapest on all 3 websites. I can't find anything that…

Help having a nightmare with eon
Hi I was hoping someone might have some advice. Last June we moved into a flat that had prepayment meters. We immediately asked for them to be replaced. In July the engineer came with the wrong electricity meter and said someone would be in touch to rebook. He installed the gas. Couple months go by no call and no bill…

Avro - What happens if they go bust? Does the new provider keep you on same price?
I am just a third into a 12 month fixed deal and wondered what actually happens if another supplier has to take over? Is my 12 month fixed price honoured or do I go to a new provider and move to standard variable and then have to switch to a better deal?

What does F credit mean on a spark smart meter?
It says F credit, Pay G, using, 0000.15.6, cost now, days left, no money. Does a smart meter only cut you off (if in debt and cant afford to pay a pre payment meter or the debt) Does it only cut you off at certain times of the day between 10am and 2 pm? Or will it cut off entirely soon?
-
Spark installed a smart meter I wanted a normal meter can I refuse it now its installed?
I hear you can refuse it and they will remove the hub (which allows them to communicate with it remotely from outside your property) How do I get the hub removed? Can you do it yourself? Or do you need to call in? Will they do it? (I already asked them but they behave like psychopaths trying to get money and ignore when I…

Gas Meter ECV means Smart Meter can't be set up
Hello, I had an engineer come over from my energy supplier (EDF) over the weekend to set up my smart meter with my gas supply. They came over a couple of weeks ago and set up the electric with the smart meter just fine, but they couldn't do the gas meter that time because it needed a special part But when they came for the…
