What does F credit mean on a spark smart meter?

It says F credit, Pay G, using, 0000.15.6, cost now, days left, no money.

Does a smart meter only cut you off (if in debt and cant afford to pay a pre payment meter or the debt)

Does it only cut you off at certain times of the day between 10am and 2 pm?

Or will it cut off entirely soon?

With some of the ones I've seen the "F" indicates friendly hours/days, this varies with each supplier.

If its this, it means it won't turn off regardless of the credit/lack of credit at those times of day, this assumes that it was 'on' before you hit the friendly hours/days.

The legacy type card/key meters tend to have slightly less friendly hours, for instance my EON electric key meter used to stop 'friendly' at about 9AM iirc but the Smart one is 11AM, plus the Smart one covers all weekends (rather than just a Sunday)

Is this gas or electric and is it a smart meter or a key/card type meter ?

You should be able to find out the friendly hours/times/days on their website.

Thats so awesome thanks ANdy, thanks mate im in a right mess in debt and bad health, so no matter what (non payment of bill and debts to spark) until it goes to court I will still get some electricity within those friendly hours that is such great news! Wow

    Found it for you. :)
Friendly Credit - applied on weekends, bank holiday and through the night, meaning if you run out of credit your supply will stay live between 8pm and 8am.

So in effect after 8pm at night on a week-night, if your meter is already on (as in you have electricity) it won't go off until 8am regardless. Note if its off because you have no credit/emergency credit it won't come back on at these hours, it needs to be alive/supplying you at that moment to remain on.

If its the weekend then the same will apply won't go off till Monday 8am.

Actually tbh 8am seems a bit mean (imo) as its far too early to sort it if it involves a shop visit. 9am was more regular and some suppliers have it at 11am. But that's not important, the answer is in my quote above to your original question.

    You're welcome.

Plese read my post carefully though, all "Friendly Hours" is for is to imply ensure if say you ran out of credit in the middle of the night or over the weekend it would not cut the power there and then (as lets be honest no one want's to go and buy credit topups at 3am!)

As I put above if its already off it will stay off. F/C just means it won't go off at a silly hour, that's all. :) Hope that helps.

Thanks Andy so can they still remotely cut me off entirely, during friendly hours too if I cannot afford to pay my bill? Without taking me to court first?

Do friendly hours run out if you dont pay for long enough? (Im not gonna be able to pay for at least the immediate future month etc)

I've not really heard of remote disconnection being used in the UK, but I could be wrong.

The meter will cut your supply off if its out of credit, this is nothing directly to do with the power company it is the meter doing that as balance = 0 = no power.

You can obviously use the emergency credit (varies per supplier expect a min of £5 and a likely max of £20) , obviously this just means your meter then reads minus £x pounds

All friendly hours mean is (put it this way) if say you had 0.10pence left on the meter of credit and it was like 11PM at night, you'd obviously 'run out' of credit by the morning so the meter won't switch off until the friendly hours run out, that being 8AM in your case (I think) it would just read £- a negative number
