Hi everyone Im new here and looking for a little help. My old dear has been with Scottish Power for 6+ years. She has recieved a letter today stating she owes them £89 from 2 years ago where there was a gap in the payments on the ( self topup key machines). After phoning them today they have told her they have automatically set a £10 a month standing order up for her to pay it, and that if she can't prove she made the payments that she has no leg to stand on. She has always been in credit in the machines without fail. Not only this, but the letter doesn't even say how much she owes, it also states "we originally set a date to clear your debt'? She hasn't even spoken to any one, nor did she know about this until the letter came through. Any advice would be great. Thank you

Unless I have misunderstood, the debt was stated in the letter as being £89
