Spark installed a smart meter I wanted a normal meter can I refuse it now its installed?
Options
I hear you can refuse it and they will remove the hub (which allows them to communicate with it remotely from outside your property)
How do I get the hub removed? Can you do it yourself? Or do you need to call in?
Will they do it?
(I already asked them but they behave like psychopaths trying to get money and ignore when I say im disabled or that I want the hub removed and then claim they never knew later despite me telling them over and over again)

Hi 3876samf
On another thread I've encouraged you to contact us directly via the email address given in my profile, so that we can see how we can help you.
With regards to asking for payment, we'd only be asking for payment of your usage plus something towards the balance on your account, and it sounds like this might be why your meter has been switched into pay as you go mode. We'd really have to check your account to understand the specifics.
I don't recommend making any changes to the meter yourself, as this could damage the meter, and could also damage you physically as it's dangerous to tamper with a meter.
I'm not sure of the ins and outs of having the meter put into dumb mode, but as mentioned above and in my other post on your other thread, contact us and we'll see how we can support you.
Kind regards
Jenny

Depending on your disability it may be beneficial to you to have a smart meter so you don't have to worry about reading the meter yourself and sending in readings.
But there is no reason to get one removed when you have one installed already, there is no downside to having a smart meter.0
