Going to the ombudsman has cost me!
So I went to the energy ombudsman to complain when npower forgot to bill me for electricity for two months, slapping it all on in one go with one massive bill. Initially I complained and Npower, who offered me £30 GW and I refused it saying it was too little compensation for such a big mistake. I launched my complaint with…

Offer of a Cheaper British Gas Tariff
We've had an Email from British Gas saying that their "cheapest and over-all electricity tariff" for ourselves is the Home Energy Secure (March 2021), for gas and electricity. Would anyone be able to tell us whether this is actually the cheapest with British Gas as they say and whether I would have to switch suppliers if I…

Massive energy usage
Hi, I've looked at my bills for the last year and they are absolutely massive. We have a small 3 bed house which has old thick walls. Our nelectricity usage for the year was approx. 4,365 kwh, and gas was 1,060 cubic feet (around 34,000 kwh). Looking at averages online, this is way more than what we should be using, at…

Air Source Heat pump schedule
Hello all, We've just moved into a new build with a ASHP and the developer wasn't very clear on its functions. The unit is a Mistibishu Ecodan, which is connected to underfloor heating and a Heatmiser 8 zone thermostat system. The controls were set to a target flow temperature of 60c, but is this the best option? It also…

What is BULB like? (Or is there better?)
It looks like it may be the supplier we need to change to for our electricity switch. But I’d like to hear from other BULB users to know what they think first. Currency we are with Sainsbury’s and we used 6629.06 kWh on standard variable tariff in a year. Single fuel, we have no gas here. Monthly DIrect Debit. No exit fee.…

Are all standing charges to be the same?
Sorry if this has been discussed before. Have I read the article below correctly - all energy companies will have the same standing charges for gas and electricity? This looks like a good change if I have understood it - it means when shopping around for gas and electricity all you have to look at is the pence per unit as…

Selling property with Solar Panels on it:
We are thinking of selling our house, and have solar panels fitted. When we got them fitted it was an unknown because they were so new, I'm hoping that now the transfer is easy and part of house sales - but does anyone know? Do they add value to the house? Take it off? Do I sell the income as well or keep it? CAN you keep…
