Cheap Energy Club

Can someone help with this please. I cannot input the correct energy supplier tariffs for my gas and electricity (separate suppliers) as the drop down boxes do not show the correct tariffs for either supplier. I have put the nearest I can find but the Energy Club Alerts I get for switching energy show more expensive tariffs than the ones I have already have. Therefore the alerts are not accurate and don't actually show any savings at all. The two suppliers I'm with currently are Octopus energy and Solarplicity but MSE energy club does not show the correct tariffs that I'm currently getting for either so the comparisons are always incorrect. Is there anything that can be done to sort this out ? An option to manually put my tariffs in would be better.
Thanks for any help.

Have you tries another comparison site to see if your tariffs are listed?
I would just enter a Big6 SVT and then do my own calculations using the tariff information for different suppliers.
I think I have read that the alerts do not work for different suppliers in a single account, and the work around is to create 2 accounts and set up one for gas and the other for electricity.0 -

Thanks.
I was wondering why I could no longer see a dual energy comparison in the options. I assume once you choose a single fuel you can no longer go back to a dual supplier? Seems crazy, but obviously no real thought went into the programme design.Keef - Sheerness, Kent UK0 -
The "savings" shown are pretty much useless anyway. The OFGEM mandated method for calculating savings are to look a year ahead on your current tariff, and assume that when it reaches its expiry date, you will go onto that supplier's standard variable (i.e. most expensive) tariff. So it is only meaningful if you are on the standard tariff, and you can be pretty sure that won't stay at the same rate for the coming year, so even that is not so meaningful.
Some comparison sites., such as CEC, allow you to compare the predicted cost against your current tariff, assuming that tariff runs for another year, again almost certainly not the case if you're already on a fixed tariff and looking to switch.
So, the easiest way is to forget your existing tariff and look at predicted future costs against your annual usage in kWh. Do not use your current costs to predict future usage, as it is again pretty meaningless.
The comparison sites are very accurate at calculating future costs for a given annual usage - so long as that is on a fixed tariff and not a variable one, as it is impossible for them to predict how rates may change going ahead.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. The excellent 2 year fix I just got with EDF was only available on comparethemarket.com & wasn’t even available direct from EDF. Plus I got Meerkat Movies & Meerkat Meals for a year.0 -
Here's one for the Cheap Energy Club (CEC) Staff themselves - when are we going to get the ability to correct supply and tariff details OURSELVES after switching is complete?
Especially for switches processed VIA CEC?
I last asked this question of MSE Roxanne in April 2016.
Then we can make up for the lackadaisical approach of some Companies to telling CEC that switches have been completed.:doh:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
This is what I got when I asked CEC directly:
"Thanks for letting us know but as with before, it usually takes around 12 weeks for suppliers to send this update over to us. We can only mark your switch complete once we have this from the supplier directly and paid you your cashback.
As soon as we hear back, we'll email you to keep you updated about the cashback.
I hope this helps explain.
Thanks

And THIS is my response:
"So Chris,
We are meant to believe what YOU tell US, but YOU WILL NOT believe what WE tell YOU?
"We can only mark your switch complete once we have this from the supplier directly and paid you your cashback." NOT TRUE - SEE BELOW.
I'M NOT ASKING YOU TO ACCELERATE CASHBACK.
I AM ASKING YOU TO ACCEPT THAT I KNOW MORE ABOUT, AND AM WILLING TO ACT FASTER IN MY INTERESTS THAN EITHER YOU OR OCTOPUS ENERGY.
AND, IT APPEARS, I KNOW MORE ABOUT SOME BITS OF MSE CEC THAN YOU.
JUST DO WHAT DAN DID;

Hi ***
Thanks for the update - your supplier hadn't actually told us about this just yet, however I've now manually updated this for you.
I hope this update helps.
Thanks
MSE Dan"
I DO HOPE THIS UPDATE TO YOUR CORPORATE AMNESIA HELPS (Sarcasm entirely intentional)."
