Gas & Electric Meters Changed Without Permission
Hi All, I changed to Usio before their collapse and agreed to a smart meter. Everything seemed fine until I needed to take a reading from the meter cupboard when I found out they had also changed both meters! Both meters seem to have started at zero and I don't know the final readings from the old meters before removal.…

2 bed flat - full electric - which supplier should I go for?
Hi, I moved in to a new flat about a month ago - 2 bed, all electric, well wrapped, 10 years old building. I am single, working professional, so will be at home evenings and weekends. I found out that the current supplier is Scottish Power, so was planning to stay with them. I tried to get new tariff through uSwitch but…

Switch after switch
Good evening. Let's begin with my short story. Two weeks ago I bought and move into a property which is supplied by British gas through payg meters. I called them to register and after I asked them if I can get the credit meters. They told me they will have to run a credit check, which I didn't pass, probably because I…

Switching whilst in the middle of a switch?!
I am part way though switching my gas supplier whilst keeping the same leccy supplier. My leccy supplier has announced a price hike so I am now better off doing a switch to a dual fuel supplier. Can I instigate the new switch now or do I need to wait until the first switch completes. I can't just cancel it because the…

Amending Terms & Conditions, vs the law
Anyone know what the legal requirement is for energy suppliers when they amend Terms & Conditions? With the ongoing mess with OFTM I noticed a change in their online T&C compared to an older copy I have. This is one I downloaded myself as they never send customers a copy. I assume this is so they can amend it at will and…

Advice needed on elecric rates set by Landlord re: coin meter!
My landlord has recently increased the KWH unit on the coin meter in my flat, by 2 pence, along with upping the daily standard charge by 3 pence. Therefore it’s now 20p per KWH & 28p for the daily std charge. He has not informed me of this increase!! (The git). If it wasn’t for checking the meter I wouldn’t have known.…

Scottish Power prepayment 'debt'
I had duel fuel from Scottish Power, the gas meter was a credit meter and the electric was pre payment. I have a long running history of difficulties and complaints with them. I finally came to an agreement that I could change providers. The changeover went ahead on Tuesday. Prior to this, I had rang Scottish Power re the…

Energy provider - EDF or Scottish Power?
Hi I have just done a price comparison and these 2 come out best for me as I approach the end of a fix with nPower. Nothing much to choose between them on price - standing charge identical, SP £19 more for gas, EDF £11 more for elec. A drop in the ocean either way as both will save £400 off the (enormous) bill we'd have…
