Switch after switch

Good evening. Let's begin with my short story.
Two weeks ago I bought and move into a property which is supplied by British gas through payg meters. I called them to register and after I asked them if I can get the credit meters. They told me they will have to run a credit check, which I didn't pass, probably because I didn't had enough history on that address. I looked online and I saw many ppl complain about British gas too.
After that, I was looking for a supplier to switch in order to get a credit meter with no extra charge and to don't do any credit searches and I found EDF. I applied already for the switch and the completion date for switch is set for the 5th of December.
Now I'm wondering, after the switch is completed, can I look to switch again to another supplier straight away? Is gonna affect me in any way? The EDF tariffs are quiet high and I don't have a exit fee. To be fair I wanted to used EDF just to change my meters to credit meter, and after to find another supplier.
If I will switch again, the new supplier will do the credit checks too? Even if I got the credit meters from EDF?
Thank you for your time guys.

Sounds to me like you are free to switch if there is no exit fee - some will credit check and some wont, - ask them!If a man does not keep pace with his companions, then perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away. thoreau0

I know usually they are doing credit checks only when you want to switch from payg to credit meter. Hopefully I'm not wrong.0

If they are going to do a credit check they must tell you, so just ask them before agreeing to the switchIf a man does not keep pace with his companions, then perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away. thoreau0

This is exactly what we have just done. We moved in to a property with BG PAYG meters in October. BG were totally incapable of even clearing the previous tenants debts of the meter so we had to let them come out and exchange the meters for smart meters. As soon as the meters were swapped, I initiated a switch to EDF. BG messed up the switch by only swapping the gas meter to credit mode and leaving the electric in PAYG mode despite saying they would both be put into credit mode before the switch 😡 We then had to have EDF to change the meter again the next day to a credit meter. The rate that I am on with EDF are an absolute joke, it's even higher than the BG PAYG rate! The next day, I initiated a switch to peoples energy which is meant to be happening on Thursday, fingers crossed noting else goes wrong!! Good luck with your switches.
