Calling EON? Beware!
Hello all, I just wanted to put out a general warning for anyone planning to call EON. AVOID at all costs calling 0872 407 0177. I'm usually quite careful with my mobile bill (averaging about £15 a month) and was shocked this month to receive a bill for £40! On closer investigation I realised that on the day we completed…

First-time Buyers; your opinions please!
I've previously posted for advice re the range of central heating options available for a renovation property we're purchasing, and got many helpful responses. My Fianc! and I have narrowed it down to gas or electric (not the old fashioned storage heaters, but modern systems where you can heat specific zones etc). May I…

Posted this once, trying again. Looking for advice please. Currently with EDF Price Protection Jan '18 and checked their other tariffs, been with EDF 5 years and OK until the last few increases. Is there any IHD giving consumer meter readings?
I have a smart meter fitted by E.ON and earlier this year I was considering switching suppliers. Only then did it emerge to me that the chaotic roll-out of smart meters means that switch supplier = lose smart meter. While to others this may not be a big issue, my primary reason for asking installation of a smart meter was…

E-On taking money out of my ESA without permission
Why can they suddenly do this? Why don't I have the right to say how much they take out? Why don't I have the right to say which debt the money goes on since there are higher priority debts than my electricity bill. Can I stop them is there anyway?

Supplier Decision.
Currently with EDF Price Protection Jan '18 and checked their other tariffs, after they made yet another price increase. Been with EDF for 5 years and quite happy until the last few increases. Always been impressed with the website, Chatline and customer service. However, I am disillusioned with the increasing frequency of…

Economy7 night storage heaters v Gas central heating
I have recently moved into a flat that has night storage heaters/economy7 electric heating. I had planned to change this to a combi boiler gas central heating system, but is it worth it? My low tariff period is currently 3am to 10 am so I can easily use washing machines etc in the early morning. The flat is ground floor…

Have just been offered a smart meter - should I accept?
British Gas recently offered to come round and fit smart meters in my home in a couple of weeks. I immediately said yes but my wife wants us to refuse as she had read mainly bad things about them. Ultimately, are they a good idea? The more I think about it, I cannot see any major advantage over my having to give BG a…

Energy Club Saving
Hi All, I've entered my yearly usage for gas/electricity, where the energy club thinks I can save £83 p/yr switching to Ebico. I'm a low user, and my current bills are only £31 total. However when checking, Ebico's quote is £32 p/month total. Am I missing something? It seems it would be cheapest for me to remain with…

Comparison sites including MSE LIE!!
Using the word LIE to get everyone's attention including hopefully Martin Lewis himself. What is this claim about? About all the comparison sites never ever include a comparison with new deals from one's current supplier. All comparisons as far as I can see are with one's current supplier variable rate which as we know is…

Big direct debit fee after leaving ?
Hi, I was with British gas until I see on the energy club a better deal so I am moving over to EDF. So I was paying the direct debit which was £80 for gas nad £30 for electricity a month. The thing is I was all up to date with payments and even had a smart meter so they automatically sent them to BG. The thing is now…

Switch from Utilita to clean energy company
Hi there, I am moving into a house that is supplied energy by Utilita and has a prepayment meter. I have had a look and as far as I can see I can switch to a smart meter but its still prepay meter. I really don't want a prepayment meter and want my energy provider to be a clean energy company. I have contacted my current…

Waiting until after General Election to change supplier?

So, I searched for an alternative and Iresa Ltd were the cheapest but…
