Gas Meter and npower
We are with npower since Oct 2012. After having seen on the BBC business news about Energy firms getting wrong with the meter readings some householders in not recognising imperial meters from metric ones, I decided to check my details. The bill I received from npower does not state if it is read as Metric or Imperial but…

I have just had a chap come around about a New Government Scheme which is supposed to cost me nothing as well as save me money on my Gas Bill. The company is Zep Superior Solutions / FC Forward Chemicals and the item he was promoting was Air Source Heat Pump. He did say the government pay you upfront for 7 years (per…

MSE Fixed 1 Year Collective Sept 2015 Online DEAL ENDING
Hi I switched last year to the MSE Fixed 1 Year Collective Sept 2015 Online tariff. I've had notice from the supplier that the deal is ending and need to switch (deal actually runs out on the 26th Oct). A couple of questions: 1/ Is there going to be another collective switch before this one runs out? 2/ If not, should i…

SSE 1 Year Fixed v8
Can someone from Cheap Energy Club tell me why the SSE tariff you are quoting on the comparison site does not give you the option of the paperless tariff? I have just done a comparison using the Energy Helpline and it gives you the option of paperless, which is £12 cheaper, or non-paperless billing. Regards, Paul

Is it worth going to the cheapest gas/electric provider?
Hi All, Just reviewing parents gas/electric. and the usage has gone up a tad but the DD has shot up! They are with SE and on the argos tariff..normally do keep an eye on it for them but missed a year. Normally they are able to offer quite reasonable prices so not looked in changing provider (lack of spare time). Did a…

Edf
I am about to move away from EDF, with some reluctance, for a significantly better tariff. However, I would commend them for their efficiency, clarity, web site and all round lack of aggro. I wouldn't hesitate to return, unlike other suppliers, notably Scottish Power and NPower, neither of which I would touch again,…

Energy club details are wrong
Help I have received notification that I will be getting my pay back for switching dual fuels to BG. However, the mail note from MSE says unfortunately only one was switched and therefore I will be getting only 50% of the benefit. I called BG who confirmed I have switched both fuels and my online account details confirm…

Process for outstanding balance
Does anyone know if there is a process energy companies are obliged to carry out when there is an outstanding balance on an account? I closed an account with First Utility 8th May 2014 when I moved house, I rang them and gave final readings and was not given a closing balance. In June 2014 I was sent a statement by email…

Are all SP customers to get the £73 compensation from the fine that was imposed? I note that even people that have left them have reported getting cheques. Mum received e-mail informing her of compensation weeks ago but we have heard nothing despite being on same tariff.

Hi, I have just checked my account messages with my electricity provider (Scottish Power ) and found a copy of a letter sent to them by someone else. The address is on my street but has the number 108 on as opposed to mine which is number 10. The name and account number are totally different. This is not all. Their letter…

Petrol station style pricing
I've been wondering for a while why doesn't Ofgem just put an end to itself as it is a complete waste of time? Only joking. I've not read the CMA report but I've read about it and frankly I've not seen anything which wil l make the market better in terms of customers and switching. One thing I've seem discussed before…

Refund if electric account is in credit
I have received the annual review of my electric supply account with E-on, and it is over £100 in credit, legally am I entitled to a refund of that credit amount? E-on has reduced the monthly direct debit for the next year by the credit amount divided by 12, but I would prefer a refund.

Switching from Prepay meters
Hi, This is my first post and I'm hoping I can get some advice. I have had prepayment meters for my gas and electric for years now but I would like to change over to a credit meter as from what I've read in the press I will be slightly better off.
