Do npower read meters for other suppliers?
I've just had a call from my wife, who tells me that npower have been round to read our meters. Only thing is that we're not with npower (we're in mid-switch from EDF Energy to BG at the moment). Do npower read meters for other suppliers or is it the case that the meter reading is done on behalf of energy suppliers by a…

Scottish Power - 2 Year Account set-up nightmare.
Hello Everybody, I'm just looking for some advice on how other folks would handle the situation I'm in. Back in March 2014 I moved into a shared house, living with 3 other tenants. We all moved in at the same time and I took on managing the bills for the house. After a bit of research I made the decision to go with…

Anyone switched using Swuto?
Anybody used Swuto for switching energy suppliers? They look the same as the energy club...that new thing of automatic searching and switching. I have used neither yet, but have signed up for swuto. I have an exit fee so need to wait, but gives me time to see if they good or not...and see what other people say about them…

What a berk I am - misread meter
Just got my bill from British Gas with an £80.64 debit balance. It says 3/12/15 66223 estimated(the from EON switch date), 8/3/16 68251 estimated. I've just read it and it's 64551! Price Comparison Sites to be investigated by the CMA
It would seem that the CMA's investigation in to the domestic energy market isn't complete. Comparison sites have been included in the CMA's 2016/7 work plan. http://www.out-law.com/en/articles/2015/december/price-comparison-sites-to-be-scrutinised-by-cma/

Are these only gas/elec price comps - MSE Cheap En Club, tariffteam & USwitch?
I've been told that the usual price comp sites - GoCompare, MoneySup, Confused - don't always have the lowest, short-lived tariffs, so I should use the others. I don't know what they are, though, except for MSE's Cheap Energy Club, Uswitch and TariffTeam. Any others? Cheers. I don't have any links to any of the companies.

Prepayment woes
An elderly, low income, immobile neighbour, on benefits with a pre-payment meter (electricity only with SSE) who has never switched, challenged me to save him money on his £2200 annual costs using a comparison site. Confident that I could help him, I discovered that the maximum he could save would be £50/annum. So much for…
