Ovo Smart Meter/Gateway/Usage
I have got the old Pipet 500 linked to my meters with Ovo. When Smart Gateway was mentioned on here a few months ago a few people were saying it was very good but it didn't work properly! I have just looked at the usage figures on my online account and they have certainly improved the data reporting even down to yesterdays…

British Gas
Strange question but if they have sent a warrant letter in completely the wrong name, should it still stand? They sent a letter to us which we didn't receive, came in and changed the meter to a pay as you go one but when we questioned it and requested the copy of letter, the name is completely wrong, it says Miss David…

Meter reading not taken on moving - what can we do?
We're in a bit of a strange situation. Moved into a house in July 2014 & we own the property next door which is commercial. After much chasing, the developer who owns the site told us the details of our water meter. At the time that meter was supplying all of the other properties on site so we didn't take over…

United utilities
Hi all, hope someone can help! Many years ago I lived as a tenant in a united utilities served property. I then moved in as a lodger with a family in the same area, unfortunately united utilities didn't understand and changed mine and my landladys account! I then moved into a number of shared houses so wasn't responsible…

Scottish Power supply to a newbuild
Hi all, first post looking for advice, so hopefully it helps somebody else. We moved into a newbuild in late September 2015, where the builder used Scottish Power for all plots. Come completion time, we/builder took the readings and agreed to start paying bills from there. All perfectly normal and trouble-free. Only…

Npower are ABSOLUTELY Cheesing me off!
When I moved into my current house, I was unfortunate enough to inherit gas and electricity services provided by nPower, however, for the first 6 months or so I had no idea who the supplier was and was never contacted by nPower (the first contact from them was a doorstep collections guy telling my wife that we were…

Anglian Water unpaid
I have a Halifax Reward account. I receive a £5 bonus each month. The balance is nil because I earn no interest. One of the conditions is that I have two direct debits. I transfer £14 each month on 21st to pay Anglian Water on 22nd each month. This has worked well for a while. I received a letter from Halifax today saying…

Will I get charged for my boiler serve if I cancel Homecare midway?
After a expensive year with Homecare, we paid over £360 to them for callouts and monthly fees for tiny jobs. Time to wave goodbye to them. Our "contract" self renewed in Nov 15, if I cancel now do I have to pay for the boiler service we had done in January 2016 that comes free as part of the package?

How to change Supplier
Ok so my Wife and our newborn have moved into a 3 bed house with Utilita as the supplier. We're spending about £35 a week on gas and about £20 maybe a month on Electric. Been looking on the cheap energy saving club thing via here and see that OVO might work out cheaper for us. Really stupid but how do I go about changing?…

Paid both old and new supplier
Hi there I switched to BG using the MSE energy club. I've just seen both old and new supplier have taken a DD payment in the same month. Is this correct? And if not how can I get to the bottom of it, how do I know who I owe for that month and who I don't? Any help appreciated!

New Flat How To Sort Gas + Electric
Hi all, I moved into a new flat today (Fri 25th March 2016) although I signed the agreement and got the keys yesterday on Thursday 24th March 2016. I have been through the post and see an outstanding bill from EON. Here are my questions: 1 - Obviously I am not responsible for this bill what do I do? 2 - I want to use Top…

More than 1 account with GB Energy? Info that you MUST know!!
GB Energy is a relatively new entrant into the UK energy supply market and has been extremely popular for energy account switchers because of their very low prices. In fact, having switched to GB Energy for our own home, I checked and found that they also offered the best deal for a dependent relative's home, too. As you…

How to relate ft2 on Gas meter with gas bill & cost
Just had a new boiler and am curious to know the daily cost. So for example I know that in 4 days I used 3.78 ft2 per the meter. Looking at my gas bill it talks about kWh and TCR but does not mention ft2 (the units I input my meter readings in). So how do I relate my volumetric consumption to my units in my gas bill, and…

How should I go about changing and fixing gas and electricity?
We currently use: Gas 40000 kWh per year, currently costing £1291 per year Electricity 5000kWh per year, currently costing £592 per year This was a good deal originally but I'm aware that there are now cheaper options out there. How do I find the best one for me? 1. I want cheap. 2. I want to fix rates for as long as…

Business electricity tariff
Hello folks, I know this a forum about domestic energy, but I've searched for answers to a simple question about business electricity, and all I get is comparison sites. Anyone know what is tarif 0051, and why any business premises should want to be on it. I am a church administrator, and have found out that the premises…

storage heaters vs gas fire
Throughout my flat I have storage heaters and am on a cheap night electricity rate. In the lounge I also have a gas fire. I have tended to rely on the storage heater to heat this room and only use the gas fire for a top-up if it's really cold. However, I'm now wondering - would the gas fire only be the cheaper option for…

Replaced Heating, Used Less Gas
For anyone interested. A year ago I replaced my warm air heating and HWC with a combi and radiators. I have used 13,578 kWh of gas in 366 days, the year before I used 16,851 kWh of gas after installing cavity wall insulation, before that I was using between 23,000 and 18,000 kWh of gas per year for the past 22 years…
