How to change Supplier

Ok so my Wife and our newborn have moved into a 3 bed house with Utilita as the supplier. We're spending about £35 a week on gas and about £20 maybe a month on Electric. Been looking on the cheap energy saving club thing via here and see that OVO might work out cheaper for us.
Really stupid but how do I go about changing? If I apply for OVO through here will it switch me at Utilita's end or do I need to call them and tell them?
Also there's a company saying that we're entitled to both insulation and a new boiler. They say I need a award letter for child tax (we've applied but heard nothing back) I've got a award letter for child benefit. Shouldn't that be enough?

The gaining company handle it all .
Just take frequent meter readings around the time of the changeover .0 -
As already posted, choose your new supplier, ask to join them and they do the rest. As the switch progresses they will ask you for meter readings and these will be the reads for the day they take over and the Final Bill reads for your existing supplier
Be very careful about offers for free insulation and a boiler - Get the Terms and Conitions and read them carefully, if in any doubt post the info here0 -

Well we're with Utilita at the mo and it's one of these smart meters (you top up) and OVO are the same? Do I still need to give meter readings?Be very careful about offers for free insulation and a boiler - Get the Terms and Conitions and read them carefully, if in any doubt post the info here
Well he got in touch with the landlord and he's said to us there's no cost from us. The cost will be from the Landlord etc with help from the government scheme. I'm just wondering if there's an easier way we can just do it on our own?0 -

OK. So what happens if it all goes wrong and the Landlord, quite reasonably, asks you to put the property back into the same state it was before any work started? By all means have a discussion with the Landlord as it is his property but if I was in your position, and I wanted to go it alone, I would make sure that I had the Landlord's permission in writing.0
