Hi all,
I moved into a new flat today (Fri 25th March 2016) although I signed the agreement and got the keys yesterday on Thursday 24th March 2016.
I have been through the post and see an outstanding bill from EON.
Here are my questions:
1 - Obviously I am not responsible for this bill what do I do?
2 - I want to use Top Cash Back UK and switch to the cheapest supplier and get cash back. They ask for current tariff supplier etc do I just refer to 'the occupier' EON bill?
How do I do this?
Thanks in advance.

E.oN is your supplier under what is termed a Deemed Contract. You now need to contact E.oN with your details, a meter reading and your occupancy start date. You are then free to initiate a switch to the supplier of your choice. The switch will take between 17 and 35 days. You will have to pay E.oN for all energy that it supplies up until the day of your supply transfer. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. It' s a pleasure. Enjoy life in your new flat and do not forget to provide your supplier with regular meter readings if you can. This is the only way to avoid a nasty unexpected bill. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
DO NOT RELY ON THE AGENT for the meter readings, look at themeters and take them yourself, and carefully file away a note of what they are0

Morning the madhouse.
Hengus is spot on. Please let us have the details of the move and we'll set up an account to cover the energy used up until you switch supplier. We've a specialist Home Moves team who'll do this. Alternatively, there's a form on our website you can use.
Your account will start from the date you took responsibility. All energy used before this will be down to the previous occupant/landlord/letting agent etc.
Unless you tell us differently, we'll set you up on our standard Energy Plan. There are no restrictions with this tariff leaving you free to change supplier at any time.
Hope the move went well and you'll soon be settled in your new flat.
