External metal gas pipes need replacing
Does anyone know about this. My elderly parents and their neighbours are having to have their lovely drives dug up to have the external pipe to the meter replaced by a plastic one. If they don't , then the meter would be removed. OK , it isn't costing them but I can't see the drives being repaired to their original state.

Man from Scottish Power
Now, I do not like giving the tax man too much of my money, nor do I like to give the likes of generating companies too much either. But I am about £250 in credit. And wish for your nice people to stop watching the Commonwealth games and get back to work and give me a call back. So on booking on your nice website, a call…

Are npower fiddling their numbers of open complaints?
The reason I ask is that they have closed my complaint despite admitting they have not completed four of the five actions they agreed with the Ombudsman. In fact they are wrong to say they completed even one of the actions. So with all five actions still outstanding my complaint is closed and they will not reopen it. Is…

I have recently moved into a property (rented) where I am the larger of three flats. I got meter readings and serial numbers when I first moved in and thought nothing more. When I was trying to change over providers though I was requid to have an mprn number (or whatever it's called for gas supply). I rang national grid as…

Naughty npower AGAIN!
Evening all, I've never posted to a forum before but can see there is a world of information out there - please help! I've just found out that npower carried on taking Direct Debit payments from the account after I switched to OVO. Ovo made out this is a massive taboo, I will get the "illegally" taken payments back from my…

Naughty npower
Had to share this although, sadly, it may not surprise too many people. We switched to npower last August. The electricity went through but the gas, inexplicably, didn't. It took until April this year for the gas the finally go through! That meant we didn't avoid a price hike from British Gas that was the reason why we…

Back-Billing 12 Month Write Off Get Out Clause?
In Energy UK's 'Code of Practice for Accurate Bills (Back Billing for Domestic Customers)' document, it states that if a supplier is at fault in not billing a domestic customer, they should not send a bill which includes unbilled energy consumed more than 1 year previous to the bill being issued. As we had not received an…

OVOEnergy - Changing Tariffs
I know that leaving Ovo before the end of a tariff agreement will result in an exit fee of £30 per fuel. I have poured over the Ts and Cs and I can find nothing about a charge if an Ovo customer just wants to change tariff. Anyone done this? I am just considering my options. Thanks

Can energy provider charge retroactively because bills used expired tariff?
Hello! I am on a fixed energy deal that should have ended back in January. The energy company didn't switch me to their standard tariff. In June I received a letter indicating that on the 30th of June I was going to be switched to the standard tariff. I just check my bill for this month and the same fixed tariff was…

Ovo Energy - Moving Gas and Electric Meter
Morning all I was just wondering if anyone who is with Ovo Energy has had their meters moved? Ours are currently under the stairs and are a bit awkward to get to for the readings so was thinking of having them moved so we can access them outside. I had a look on their website but couldn't find anything about it. Thanks

Debt amount should be adjusted?
Hi all Due to NPower errors when we asked them to change the DD sort code and account a debt built up due to failed DD payments. Over that 6 mths nightmare I made occasional payments over the phone, so the final 'debt' was £607. We received compensation for the errors that NPower made, and they set up a payment plan that…

Switch Advice
Hi Apologies if posted elsewhere. My fixed tariff is due to end on 31st July. Should I wait til then to switch suppliers or would I be ok to initiate it before if the switch completes after the 31st July? Does anyone know how long a switch takes on average these days? (haven't switched for two years). My current tariff has…

Hi everyone, we have a problem with (I think) our electricity meter and just wanted to put it out there to see if anyone had experienced something similar or could offer some advice. We took a meter reading recently and the kw's used was about 4/5 times more than we were expecting! So a few figures to start with: We moved…

EDF back billing code HELP
I was a customer of EDF for several years for electricity and in August 2012 switched my gas from British Gas to EDF and joined the Blue Price Promise. My monthly direct debit payments were calculated by EDF for both fuels and were taken monthly, I submitted meter readings and also had the meters read by EDF. I also…
