Man from Scottish Power

Now, I do not like giving the tax man too much of my money, nor do I like to give the likes of generating companies too much either. But I am about £250 in credit. And wish for your nice people to stop watching the Commonwealth games and get back to work and give me a call back.

So on booking on your nice website, a call back, it keeps coming back that the slot is not available. Surely, the lady you have left in the office, like any other woman I know, is capable of multi tasking, so can you give me a call back.

My fact is my bill should be sufficient at £140 for the year, not the £185 you take at the moment.

You should be in credit at this time of year, ready for Autumn / Winter.

Last Winter was exceptionally mild, so do not use that as a guide. This Winter might be average or much colder.

About 90% of most people's gas consumption is during the Autumn / Winter months.

Maybe you need to fix your price. I pay £55 a month for dual fuel, sure I am always in credit but this is handy for the winter when I know my usage goes up because the central heating is on.

I use very little electricity because I am a mid terraced house and I have 10 inches of insulation in the loft, I have two bedrooms and all my white goods are A+ energy saving and I have energy saving bulbs throughout.

Speak nicely to Scottish Power and they should be able to help you - don't be sarcastic.

Ah ha .You need to tell us your annual usage in Kilowatts for both fuels.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Without being too cynical, and without in any way blaming the person on the end of the phone, Scottish Power's customer service is a mess. They might be able to help, but you have to get through first and as the OP says, their call back system seems to be down. Permanently.

  • Hi,

and their email service is just as bad.

I emailed them with a query, replied that it would be approximately 30 days to resolve it.

Foolishly (!), they gave me a reference number for my complaint - only another 4 weeks until I can go to the Ombudsman...

I have my heating on for more than ten minutes!

Called, sorted, DD reduced to £130. No problemo.

The call back system certainly has issues but I have found that if you try and use it after you have signed into the websit it NEVER works, it always tells you whatever time you select is not available. However if you log out of the website and try again, it then does seem to work and I do usually get called back. Probably thinks you are a new customer then (same reason that there never seems to be a wait on the sales line....)

I have sent them 5 messages and STILL no reply. I asked for a refund as I was in credit for £370!!!
I looked into my bank statement and only when looking through it did I see the refund! not a word from S.P. My contract ends with them at the end of August............. Guess what, I am NOT staying with them, but it will probably be a case of frying pan into the fire! What ARE these companies like.
