Eon Rep is this fraud?
Seen this in another forum. I might do this if it isn't.:D My gas and electricity are going up by over £500 a year, never could work out percentages, because I am on a special tariff from Eon that is being ended on 29th June. I am going to add 1000kWh of electricity and 400 metric units to my gas usage when I give them my…

Pre pay key meter (Elec) question
Dear all, I recently moved into a property that had both gas and electricity on the key type meter and I have never had these before. On the understanding that they are slightly more expensive I discussed replacement with my former supplier, British Gas, who confirmed they would be happy to change things over to credit…

End of Fixed tariff - when to switch to avoid fees?
When is the best time to switch to avoid termination fees, is it still taking 4-6 weeks to switch? I remember hearing that switching maybe reduced to 2 weeks in the future. On M&S Energy Fix Save which ends on 30 Sept, thinking ahead a little I know.

Supposedly 'free' boiler upgrade from Npower
Reeling from yet another supposedly "free" boiler upgrade. They advertise to get you sucked in; make you go through loads of visits; everyone telling you you'll be eligible, UNTIL YOU GET TO THE FINAL HURDLE, "sorry, your boiler isn't IN-EFFICIENT enough". Yet its over 25 years old, the rest of the houses in the terrace…

Ridiculous EON Bill From Last Home
Hi All, We recently received a bill for gas and electricity from EON for a property that we vacated TEN months ago. The bill is for £800, despite us having dutifully paid each bill quarterly during our time at the last property. Phoned EON "customer service" today. Firstly they told us tough luck we have to pay. Then after…

Npower / Telemessage - Urgent advice sought
My sister lived in London for a few years before moving to Singapore late last year with her job. Some people she knew (I think) remained in the flat after she left. She paid her final Npower bill for her rented flat in London and informed the company that she was moving abroad. Even though she settled accounts, my sister…

Scottish Power Default
Hi, I noticed the other day someone on here represents Scottish Power and wondered if they could help. A default was raised against me on 28th January 2010 but I was not advised as sent to an incorrect address - long story but related to ex-wife living in marital home we both owned but she failed to pay the debt. I sent in…

what is the latest on solar, green, cash back energy?
Hi I get a lot of calls from companies trying to give me solar panels for free, with free electricity, money off bills etc. etc. I naturally assume that they are all trying to con me and say bye bye. However, I know that there are some green schemes .... I am just totally confused. I did speak with an ex-solar panel…

Economy 7 Charging for Hybrid Car ? Which Tariff/Supplier is cheapest for me ?
Please could any one advise me the cheapest Economy 7 tariff to use to charge up our new Mitsubishi Hybrid car. I am told by Mitsubishi UK it will use approx. 10kw of electricity over a 5 hour period to totally recharge its batteries. We normally average about 9 kWh of electricity usage per day otherwise at this time of…

NPower billing fiasco and automatic credit refunds
I'm a bit confused (and slightly worried!) over the whole NPower billing problem. Our bill date should have been April, then it was May, then June and now it's either November or December depending on whether you believe their email or our online account. As we pay by direct debit it shouldn't really be a big deal, we're…

Pre-payment meters - getting a refund at the end?
I think I ballsed up. I switched from British Gas to Npower (because it was the best way for me to get credit meters put in) and I only took advice from Npower about the mechanics of it all. They told me that after my supply was switched over I'd get a final bill from British Gas based on my final meter reading and on what…

I knew it was a bad idea to switch..mathematical wizard urgently needed!
I have avoided switching because of the horror stories, but having had one too many excessive bills from Npower I bit the bullet. However, I have tried to submit my monthly reading to Ovo for the first time, and found a 1st class c*ck up by Npower. My gas reading appears to be about 5000 units less than the final Npower…

How much is too much- paying in advance ?
Hi Currently with Scottish Power on standard rate ( upto March this year I was on Freshstart,) My monthly payment to them is £102 for a small two bed flat with 2 adults, both at work a lot. My next proper bill is due in July, by which time I'll be well over £500 in credit! Is this too much for the time of year or will it…

Cheapest Gas & Electric offers
Please could someone tell me whether I've got my wires crossed… My understanding is that the Utility companies (mine is Scottish Power) have to put you on the lowest tariff they offer. Is that correct? We were given a tariff last year which terminates in 2015. If the one on offer this year is cheaper, am I correct in…
