Scottish Power Default
Options
Hi,
I noticed the other day someone on here represents Scottish Power and wondered if they could help. A default was raised against me on 28th January 2010 but I was not advised as sent to an incorrect address - long story but related to ex-wife living in marital home we both owned but she failed to pay the debt. I sent in proof of renting another property and a solicitors letter and was told it was resolved. Default was lodged on call credit only but never received a chaser or ccj. To cut a long story short my complaint has been closed as despite having a system that says they received both letters I am being asked to provide both again. Notwithstanding this when closing the complaint I was told to contact First Locate. When I contacted them they said that the debt had been closed by Scottish Power on 8th Feb 2010. Therefore they should not have left a default on my account. Despite Call Credit trying to contact them and asking to have my complaint re-opened I have not been given a complaint number or a direct dial number so I am totally reliant on them contacting me. Forgot to say the only reason I found the default was we have applied for a mortgage and despite Equifax and Experian having high scores and no defaults this appeared on Call Credit. Therefore I will lose the house we are trying to buy unless Scottish Power admit their error in the next few days. What else can I do ? I have complained to the Ombudsman and as I say above, both Scottish Power and Call Credit!
