SSE - "human error"
Just received my latest statement from SSE; gas usage seemed high although it was based on 'actual reading'. Checked the meter and reading is LOWER than the reading taken 3 wks ago. SSE customer services said "it's a human error, wrong figures entered on handheld, it happens". So, not impressed with the attitude and also…

Nice Eon
Just gave Eon my meter readings for my bill and Eon have reduced my DD by £11 a month. Must go on holiday more often as that is what caused Eon to think my usage overall has reduced. :rotfl:

Solar Power and electricity tariffs
We're having Solar panels installed soon. Our gas and electric tariff with EON ends soon and we were wondering what to look for in any competitive tariffs in order to maximise the benefits of solar power. One thought I've had is that should I be looking for a tariff without a standing charge as with one, there will be an…

Gas Meter ft3 or m3
Why is it seem to pay THREE times as much for my gas just because I have an imperial cubic feet meter ? ONE unit of gas is ONE cubic metre of gas (metric meter) which converts to about ELEVEN kwhs. ONE unit of gas is ONE cubic foot of gas (imperial meter) which converts to about THIRTY-TWO kwhs. Yet, ONE cubic metre is…

EDF nightmare. 9 months of hell.
I'm looking for some advice on where I can take this matter as I'm seriously fed up now! In December last year I phoned EDF and asked to go onto their blue promise plan. In January I noticed that no direct debit had been taken, so I phoned EDF and was told that I was actually in credit so not to worry. Then in February the…

Problem with the Cheap Energy Club site pls?
Hi I'm a member of this site's Cheap Energy Club. I did an upto date comparison on that site today and decided I fancy staying with Scottish Power and going for thier Help Beat Cancer deal which lasts till 2017, as I can only see energy prices going up and up. Anyway, there is a problem with the cheap energy club site,…

NPower Direct Debit 'theft'
I switched away from NPower in July following a 12 month complaint over a meter change which the ombudsman finally resolved. We had paid up in full and I cancelled the direct debit at the bank. However, I just noticed in Sept (2 months after switching away) they had created a new DD in Sept and took £140 out of my account…

Southern Electric PAYG meter - topping up question
Hi. I now have an electric PAYG meter with Southern Electric. Does anyone know if the P.O., or PayPoint shops, only accept cash for the top-ups? I've tried looking on the S.E. site, but there's no info. Thanks.

anyone else on the edf blue price promise April 2014 tariff ?
I'm on the edf blue price promise 2014 tariff and I'm trying to decide whether to switch to the npower 2017 tariff. My last bill from edf showed my annual usage as 3220 kWh elec and 20200 kWh gas which is just under £100pm, when I plug these figures in to the npower site for that tariff it quotes me £130pm, strange thing…

Fuel bills - Transparency
Like me I'm sure many of you have been following the story of the Ed Milliband wanting to force energy companies to freeze prices if Labour come to power. I don't want to discuss the pros and cons of this but there is one thing I do think the electricity suppliers could do to help us decide who we buy our supply from. I…

Communal lights question
So it turns out the 2 communal lights are wired into one of the 3 flats in the house. How have people dealt with communal electricity? Can we install a 4th meter in the freeholders names? I will not happily pay a portion of their bill as we don't know how much the 2 lights cost. They are on timer switch, not on all the…

British Gas Homecare 200
Hi folks This is my first post, but I have been following other people on this site for some time now. For some years (although not continuously), I have had a BG Homecare 200 agreement, which covers my boiler & central heating system. I have just received a renewal notice, which states that my direct debit will be…

Scottish Power Unifi question
Hi all, After spending half an hour waiting to speak to SP yesterday and no response to the message yet I thought I'd ask on here and see if anyone knows. I got the Unifi system a couple of years ago but the tariff is due to end on 31st October and SP are recommending I switch to a fixed tariff. As far as I know as long as…
