Gas Meter ft3 or m3

Why is it seem to pay THREE times as much for my gas just because I have an imperial cubic feet meter ? ONE unit of gas is ONE cubic metre of gas (metric meter) which converts to about ELEVEN kwhs. ONE unit of gas is ONE cubic foot of gas (imperial meter) which converts to about THIRTY-TWO kwhs. Yet, ONE cubic metre is about 35 cubic feet. So should not ONE unit of gas on my imperial meter cost me 35 times LESS that one unit on a metric meter and NOT 3 times as much. This conundrum is driving me BONKERS.

Look at your imperial meter and you will see that it actually registers a unit as 100 cu Ft.

Even if your meter did measure single cu ft as a unit, the conversion formulae used to convert volume to kWh would anyway adjust it accordingly, just as it does with 100's cu ft.
