Hi all! Sorry if this has already been posted somewhere! My partner and I are hoping that we will complete the purchase of our first house the end of next week and, being new to this, I have some questions I'm hoping you all can help with! I know that, from reading, we will need to go with the energy providers that the…

Well, I have Finally Gone With British Gas...
After three or more attempts at using comparison sites and talking to call staff at EDF, NPower and BG...I have signed to BG. All of them are too expensive for me and I will as the income decreases and changes in benefits kick in just have to use both less. It is no better if you are working as best part of the population…

EDF Blue Promise September 2013 vs April 2014
So I'm currently on the EDF Blue Price Promise September 2013 tariff and have been since it came out. I just wanted to check if this is a better tariff than the seemingly newer April 2014 tariff? Or have they just taken the September one and extended the expiry date on it?

Energy Tarriff Tie-Ins
Hi folks, Currently on an Online Fixed Price deal with Scottish Power unti March next year. Was considering moving to the EDF tariff that Martin keeps promoting and was willing to pay the exit / tie-in fees to Scottish Power to leave them, in lieu of future savings with EDF. However upon doing a comparison I also saw SP…

Is it possible to just stop buying Gas, and just have 'no heating'?
I'm a Scottish Power customer for Gas and Electric. In a flat, rented from a Housing Association, (which is a lot like a council flat). I wonder if it's possible for me to have the Gas discontinued and not buy Gas from anyone. I long for those mid-1990's days when my flat didn't have central heating. (I never used the gas…

Should I go for Standing Charge or Tiered tariff?
I have shown below my meter reading history (as much as I can get from my account ). So you can roughly see how much I use throughout the year. Could someone confirm whether I should go for a tariff with a Standing Charge or a Tiered Tariff? Or does it not really matter? Last years annual consumption for me was: GAS =…

How much does a complaint cost the provider
If I make a complaint against my energy provider I understand it cost them a minimum of £350 to defend it. Is that for the complaint or if I contend that they have broken the terms of the license more than once is it for each breach?

We have never changed tariff or supplier. We are on EDF standard (E7) and get paper bills every quarter and now looking to go to Blue +Price Promise. We have an online account ('MyAccount') which I use for information and supplying actual meter reads. If we change to the new tariff, we (well my wife actually) don't want to…
