Confused by comparison sites

I am currently with Npower for dual fuel on go fix 8, i have entered the figures into energy helpline comparison site and uswitch comparison site, both differ greatly on savings although both show the cheaper companies in the same order.

Eg with energy helpline Scottish power Online Fixed Price Energy November 2013 expected saving £198/year
with uswitch Scottish power Online Fixed Energy November 2013 expected saving £28/year
3 other comparison sites are showing roughly £28/year savings

This is leaving me somewhat confused, I can only assume that energy helpline are way out on their estimated saving calculations.

Anybody else come across this?

Are you entering annual kWh figures or monthly DD figures? The latter do not give accurate or consistent results.

Spooky! I posted almost exactly the ame post at exactly the same time. Interestingly Uswitch gave me the biggest saving, with energy helplline showig the lowest saving.

Makes you wonder whether you would actually save anything or if it's all a big misdirection trick and al the utility companies are in on it!!
Skint: (adjective) The tendency to turn off the grill when turning the bacon.

Think skint - it makes things simpler

Your kWH figures are very strange. For a property with gas CH and DHW an average figure is around 16500 for gas and 3300 for electricity. Your gas is much too low and your electricity twice as high?

This is what it said on my last bill
We calculate you use 7,748 kWh of electricity and 7,514 kWh of gas over 12 months.
We've used this information, which is based on actual readings where possible, to provide you with the following
estimate of how much you can expect to pay over the next 12 months.

    Gas Central Heating (main heating),
2 electric fan heaters (used occassionally)
    Gas Combi boiler (hot water)
    Gas hob/electric oven
    Electric tumble drier used frequently

Your gas figure is incredibly low, less than half what would be expected.
Your electricity is double-frequent tumble drier usage will explain only part of that.
I would manually check the figures given by nPower.
