EDF Blue Promise September 2013 vs April 2014
So I'm currently on the EDF Blue Price Promise September 2013 tariff and have been since it came out.
I just wanted to check if this is a better tariff than the seemingly newer April 2014 tariff? Or have they just taken the September one and extended the expiry date on it?

If you check the tariff (and i suggest you do), it appears that the unit prices are minisculey lower (IIRC) with the april deal.
EDIT...Based on East Midlands figures0 -
Does that not depend on where you live? If I am seeing the correct tables it seems to me that as many regions which are cheaper there are some which go up in price too.Danceswithhorses wrote: »If you check the tariff (and i suggest you do), it appears that the unit prices are minisculey lower (IIRC) with the april deal.0 -
Looks like I shall have to do some detail digging. Thanks.0

So Sept 2013 = Elec - 11.32p (14p charge) Gas - 3.446p (22p charge)
and April 2014 = Elec - 11.37p (14p charge) Gas - 3.445p (22p charge)
The questions now is, is the 0.045p increase overall worth taking to ensure my price is fixed for an additional 6 winter months?0 -
For me, the guarantee of prices not going up for an extra 7 months was very attractive. So Sept 2013 = Elec - 11.32p (14p charge) Gas - 3.446p (22p charge)

Or course, if prices go down, you can always change supplier
I personally can't see a drawback0 -

I agree. Having a general idea of what I'm going to have to pay is a big draw for me, especially when I can leave at any time if (miracle of miracles) prices go down.0 -
i just changed from 2013 to 2014 they said it will be 16p more per year, thats nothing for the peace of mind0
-
16p?? Wow, I better call them up, I was working it out it would be about £100 more expensive.0

I called up EDF, £12-24 more per year but 2 winters of the same price. Done deal. Except they attempted to put the direct debit up to £125 per month from £58?! That required another call.0
