Economy 10??
I have just moved into a new flat and wondered whether anyone could help me out. Sorry if these are stupid questions, I don't completely understand how the system in the flat works. The flat is all-electric, and I think is what is considered "wet central heating" (water filled rads, electric Amptec boiler). There is a…

We want to pay for our gas, but can't!!!
About 18 months ago I moved into a flat with my girlfriend. The flat is number 10, in a block of 10, and I have a hunch that it was used for non-residential purposes went it was originally built, hence the problems I'm about to explain. The flats were built recently, and I believe only one other resident had lived in the…

NPower trying to change payments - beware!
Despite a credit of £70, NPower tried to change monthly payments for gas/electricity from £55 p/m for both to £104 p/m for both!! When calling to query this increase, they had no idea why it was done & sheepishly changed the payments back & sending a letter of confirmation. HTH :)

electricity meter reading and bill problems
This is going to be a bit long as there is a bit of background info, so apologies in advance. I moved into my first home (rented) with my partner on 21st April. I would class it as a two bed terrace (it was laughingly advertised as three bed as there is a tiny room with a window about big enough to fit a baby's cot into, I…

£70 Cashback Switch
Hi I switched last month to Scottish Power to save on my bills as it was heavily advertised on moneysavingexpert.com. The offer stated switch by 20 July and you'll get £70 cashback if you go through the link to moneysupermarket.com, who then compare the tariff and you choose Scottish Power. How does this cashback get paid…

Are EDF taking me for a ride?
I moved to our new home 23rd July last year (2011) and promptly contacted Brittish Gas to cancel our gas and electricity with them (as they were the current suppliers) and rang EDF who we had previously been happy with at our previous home. After a few initial problems over disputing final bills with Brittish gas, I was…

Is there a tool online which I can chuck in my estimated kWh and it will show me quickly what difference it will make? Based on my estimated usage below and looking at uSwitch I think…

Your recommendation is at variance with ScottishPower Energy saver 20
At present I am on ScottishPower Direct October 2012 Offer it will end on 30 September 2012. If I could be bothered to tackle ScottishPower current offer nonsense I would but why bother. They make an offer now telling me what I will pay for Energy saver 20, not compared with what is my current tariff, but instead next…

Moved into new property - 2 electricity meters but gas provides heating?
Just moved into our first owned property 3 weeks ago, and our electricity meter has two readings, one for "low" and one for "normal". There is a day/night dial inside the meter also. This would suggest economy 7 heating to me? Except there is a new combi boiler in the property which provides heating and hot water. Both…

EDF !!!! up again!
I have a long running saga with EDF over their direct debits and the fact they offer no adequate explanation when they change the amount - this has now gone to the Energy Ombudsman. Recently, after I input new meter readings (I know, I know, but 3 months had gone by) and - yes you've guessed - they upped the DD again…
