I found out he went bankrupt and…

About to switch supplier - when should I get claim back a direct debit refund?
Hi all, Having a day of working on sorting my finances! I'm about to change my electricity supplier and leave British Gas as I can get a cheaper rate. I pay by direct debit and my account is about £200 in credit. Should I claim this back now or wait for British Gas to refund me after the switch goes through? I'd hate for…

Cheapest way to boil water
When making pasta, I haven't the patience for the water to boil in the pan, so I always boil a kettle (or two!) for the water to cook the pasta. Can someone tell me if it is cheaper to boil the water from cold using gas, or use a kettle to boil? Many thanks

Faulty Gas Meter - box flooded - HELP!

Legally, as they can only claim backdated payments for the last 12 months, I paid them £90 owing and the matter of monies owed was resolved. I am continuing to pay my direct debit to Southrn…

Npower Go Fix-8 Tariff - define fixed!
Hi, I've just had a statement from Npower saying they're increasing my monthly direct debit by £20. I'm supposedly on the Go Fix-8 tariff so how can they increase the price? I thought that was the whole point of a 'fixed' tariff. If that's the case I'll be paying the £40.00 get out fee and scooting! Have I misunderstood?

Price Changes
When do people anticipate the next round of price increase/cuts are due to take place. My fixed price deal with EDF is coming to an end in Sept and was wondering when's the best time to shop around. Is the consensus that energy prices are due to increase in the coming months?

Do meter readers sometimes 'guesstimate' ?
I am currently sorting out a mess with my mother-in-law's electricity bill (E7) which has arisen from incorrect switch readings 12 months ago, not helped by a large number of estimated readings dating back to Jan 2010. Anyway, I've got the switch readings all sorted and have been taking regular readings over the last few…

Phoenix Gas charging me for box replacement
Hello, just looking for a bit of advice. A Phoenix Gas engineer arrived out a few months ago to fix my brown box outside. Where do I stand with…
