Quick question about gas meters....

Hi Folks,

A very simple question - if I want to have gas supplied to my house (a new connection - it currently has no supply or pipework), can I have an indoor meter, or are outdoor meters the only legal option?

Cheers
Adrian

I would think the choice would be yours seeing as how you will be paying a quite large ammount, It would prob be dearer to have meter inside, and less covenient taking up a bit of space also. Most would prefer a box outside, cant see how there could be any legal obligation involved. Having it in a garage is another option if you wanted it in a safer spot than inside the house
they are def safer outside, i found one this year in an outside box which had blown the nipple off ( used to test pressure ) and was leaking at a real high rate. Occupier out all day. luckily venting outside

it will be outside - sure there are now rules and regs about where the service leads to - best off speaking to the network in your area for up to date current regulations
