I am at present with Scottish Power, I joined them in August 2010 and since then they have hiked price twice! Taking my DD from £83 per month to £117!!! I have just called them to tell them I will not be staying due to this being the second price hike since I have been with them, and they have told me that I am tied in…

Switch supplier. Biggest saving or Long term fixed price.
I currently pay £75 by direct debit to EDF for electricity and £60 direct debit to British Gas for gas. It’s about time I stopped being loyal and started to look around. I read on the main site it’s a good idea to fix prices so I used energyhelpline.com to compare prices.. According to them if I get dual fuel from nPower I…

Free £30 Voucher for the EDF Energy Online Shop - Existing Customers Only
Whilst in Scrooge mode :D I came across this old thread - forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=2315429 - (sorry still can't post live links) which died a death in March 2010 but the updated link posted on page 3 post #56 for existing EDF customers to be able to claim the £30 voucher still appears to be working…

Should I have switched?
I have accepted a transfer from Scottish Power Online Enegy Saver 10 to Npower Sign Online 23. Should I have done this? I only switched as it said that they would save me £200 a year. Now I have seen that I might have done the wrong thing. Scottish power have sent me a letter saying that I should call to see if they can do…

Question for eon rep
If someone is on the warm assist tariff because they are getting a certain benefit, what happens when they stop getting that benefit because of a change in their circumstances? Should they inform eon that they are no longer getting the benefit and do they have to change their tariff to something else?

Do you leave lights on overnight?
I always leave 3 lights on at night - the loo in case someone needs to go, the downstairs hall and the front door to put burglars off! With the electricity bills going up i'm wondering if I should turn all but the outdoor light off? The loo has 1 energy saving bulb and the hall has 3 - do you think they would cost me much…

Before I switch....some advice please
This morning I have been trolling through the minefield of gas suppliers as I am currently with Southern Electric. According to Uswitch and Moneysupermarket I would be better off with a dual fuel deal with Npower on the sign online 23 tarrif (I already have electric on the same deal with them). My question is according to…

Another EDF thread - call to reject DD or just switch?
I admit, for the sake of a few ££ I'd not bother switching to someone else but EDF have just sent noticed of our DD being increased to £181 a month. We started with them 29th December so have had 3/4 months of the central heating being on full (24/7 more or less) and 3 months of usual gas/electric. The CH will no doubt go…

Nightmare leaving EdF
I am one of the many who fled EdF OS v7 after the massive price hikes announced in June. I told EdF I was rejecting the increase the day it was announced and promptly signed up wih NPower for their cheapest fixed tariff. NPower said they would be supplying my energy from 18th July onwards and asked me to submit an initial…

Direct Debit Woe
I've recently switched banks and used my new bank's switching service to transfer my direct debits and standing orders. One of my direct debits is to EDF for my electricity supply. I've received today an unexpected bill from EDF for £186.45, claiming that I've failed to make my regular payment this month. I've checked both…

Which EON tariff?
We are currently on the Save Online 4 tariff which comes to an end at the beginning of November. We are going to stay with EON at present but my brain is spinning as to which of their tariffs it would be prudent to move to. We only moved into this property at the beginning of Feb and took over the bills at the beginning of…

New boiler & central heating system
Hi, I wonder if anyone can help?? We are currently in the early stages of buying a house built in 1903. It has 3 current boilers, 1 for hot water, 1 for heating on floor 1&2 and the other boiler for heating and hot water on the third floor. As a result the EPC rating is F. We have not had a survey done yet but was just…

Southern Electric - too good to be true?
We're currently with E-On with a dual plan Electricity we're paying 23.43p for first 247, then 11.84, its working out at £260 odd per quarter. Bit pricey for me, so I thought I'd look around here, found a comparison site clicked the link from here, beatthatquote. Checked for dual tarrifs and npower could save me 200 per…

Service charges?
Hi All, just had confirmation from Scottish Power re the price increase. However, it seems as though gas/electricity prices are barely rising but service charges are nearly doubling. I thought it was actual energy prices that were rising, or am I confusing the service charge with the actual cost of the energy used?…

UK Aged Price Protection April 2013
Hi Switched to UK Aged Price Protection April 2013 when companies started to increase prices. Now that Eon have put the prices up trying to compare just Eon tariffs. Struggling to find sites that show prices including increase. So I was wondering if loser or winner by switching. I dont think Eon are showing new prices on…
