How Long Should It Take To Send The Final Bill?
I have just changed suppliers and am wondering how long it takes to arrange the final bill. I left EDF on the 18th April, they came that morning to read the meters ( I don't know why, I was told to give the final readings to the new supplier so I did that too) but I haven't had the final bill yet. They owe me about £40 -…

British Gas wrote off my debts.
Since i moved into the new property in October 2010 they have rejected my requests to switch provider on the grounds that i owe them cash, when they rejected they kept billing me and the debt mounted up i owed them hundreds of pounds. I was out of options, i had a payment plan set up which i was paying in full, on time,…

nPower rep' please read and take action
In February 2006 my partner and I moved to where the previous occupier used npower and so we became npower customers by default. I rang them to provide opening meter readings. In due course gas bills started to arrive but no electric bill (npower no longer supply our gas). By April 2007 I became concerned that I had not…

Scottish & Southern
Just saw news that S&S have been found guilty of mis-selling.Their spokesman said these were techniques used in 2009 and are no longer employed. Funny that.I was persuaded to change in July 2010 by a salesman using these tactics.I regretted it almost instantly and have recently arranged to move to a fixed tariff with…

Eon/Tesco Clubcard scheme
Seems quite advantageous if you are an Eon/Tesco customer. Apparently, now you can exchange each £10 worth of Clubcard vouchers for £15 off your Eon bill.

Will a CCJ stop me switching suppliers?
I have credit meters at the moment, everything is paid up to date, would asking for prepayment meters overcome any issues? Desperate to switch as current supplier - Ecotricity - horrifically expensive with no cheaper tariffs.

Fixed prices really worth it?
Does anybody have any historical data to show how often fixed price deals worked out in favour of consumers in the past? Looking today I see the best fixed price for me is about 18% higher than the best web saver deal. The price fix is for one year. This is for economy 7, electricity only. Now as I use the most electricity…

eDF Billing
Anyone else had any problems with eDF. I normally submit readings online and get a bill. This time I forgot (as I have done from time to time), normally I get an estimated bill. This time however, I didn't receive a bill, or a reminder, I just received the second 'pay now' letter. Also, the bill was about £100 dearer (I am…

Are British Gas really hiking prices?
I phoned BG today to check what tariff I'm on and see if I can switch to a fixed tariff given the hikes mentioned in the press and in the money saving expert email. However, I was assured by the BG staff member that BG are not hiking their prices and this is all scaremongering by the press. I was told similar happened in…

FTB choosing gas and electricity provider
Evening all. I'm hopefully going to moving into my first house in the next few weeks and my job for today has been to look up the different options available. It's safe to safe I'm overwhelmed, my brain hurts, and I'm no closer to getting an answer! I knew there were a few providers and assumed they'd have a few tariffs…

Premium on inefficient homes?
Hi This is my first post - hope im doing it right!? A sales person has just knocked at my door trying to get me to have insulation. Their sales patter said that inefficient homes who have not had insulation will next year have to "pay an additional percentage". I asked if she meant that because gas and electric prices are…

Incorrect time on meter
I have a digital E7 meter. The time is showing over 2 hours too slow. Does this matter? I can hear a distinctive "clunk" at 1.30am when I am assuming the E7 is kicking in and again at 8.30am when it is going off. However, the digital clock doesnt reflect these times. Any thoughts?

Swalec doorknocker

"Goodbye" ...shuts door. BUT HOW THE HELL DID HE KNOW I WAS WITH EON ????? Is there an industry database that they all can…

I applied to have my electricity supply moved over from n-power to British Gas, I applied via u-switch in October last year. I've had emails and letter confirming that I will be switched over, but as of yet it still has not happened, it has been 7 months now. I have contacted them on several occasions, and they have said…
