Coldest winter for 30 years yet I used 30% less energy?
I've just recieved my yearly summary from Scottish Power and it appears I've used 30% less power this year even though it was the coldest for 30 years! They want to reduce the amount I pay ; £92 per month for dual fuel to just £60 per month. I'm really concerned I could end up owing them money next year if I only pay this…

Is a separate washer & dryer more efficient than combined?
Hi all, I am about to move into my first unfurnished property, where not even the white goods are included (but the rent reflects this). Gas bill seems too high
I've just moved from a new build 2 bedroom flat to a 100 year old 2 up 2 down mid terrace. The house had an energy efficiency rating of C on the EPC, it's double glazed, has loft insulation and (allegedly) cavity wall insulation so it's not too cold and draughty. The previous owners had prepayment meters, so I have a good…

Washing Machine energy consumption?
I have been carefully monitoring our gas and electricity usage for about a month and have worked out that our washing machine (which is only 2 years old and A rated) is using 2 units of electricty for every load. This seems high to me - but am not sure. Does anybody else know how much their machine uses?
