Is there any one out there who can give me any help as to how to bring the pressure down on my baxi combi boiler please? I know it should be between 1-1.5 well its shot up during the night and i now have a red fault light on:eek: When this happened a couple of years ago I remember we opened a valve and brought it down that way, i'm on my own now and cant remember what we/he did!!!!
Any help would be appreciated, its COLD!!!
Thanks, Carole.

I don't know where it is but there should be a pressure relief valve fitted in the boiler to prevent the system becoming over pressurised and bursting a radiator. This will release water through a pipe which normally goes through an outside wall and will be openended finishing just short of ground level. By tracing back you should find the pressure relief valve which can usually be operated manually by either pushing it down or pulling it up against spring pressure.
Failing finding that drain water from a radiator through the bleed valve using a container to catch the water. You should have a bleed valve key. If you haven't got one these are about £1.00 or so from DIY stores.
You need to find out why there was a sudden increase in pressure. It could be due to several reasons. May be your boiler is due a service. If so have this checked at the same time. Relieving the pressure may not solve your problem but worth a go.0 -
High or low gas pressure is enough for an emergency Transco engineer call out, in case it's a problem with the supply - 0800 111 9990

No what are you on about? This thread is about water pressure, not gas, and Transco haven't existed for ages. Please think carefully before giving bad advice that might panic people.0 -
I think the OP is talking about water pressure, not gas pressure as on many heating systems the water should be between 1-2 bars.
Edit - seen someone has already beaten me to it. I agree though, it is unwise to make suggestions which could panic someone particularly when that does not appear to be the problem.0 -

This is water pressure issue and transco disappeared 5 years ago a gas emergency engineer would come and turn the boiler off not deal with the water pressure
opps teach me to speed read this - same advice already given,I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0 -
Apologies - I thought she was talking about gas pressure!! Sorry about that.0
