I'm getting my pre-payment meters, gas and electric, changed to credit meters on Monday. Scottish Power have told me that my direct debit each month will be £102. I live in a 3 bedroom mid terraced house by myself, I work full time so obviously have no heat or electric on during the day. I am wondering if this monthly…

How much has gas leak cost me
I have always had a smell of gas when near my external gas meter, well decided to get it checked out and Transco found that the outgoing copper elbow joint hadn't been soldered well and showed me a small section with solder missing from joint, so he replaced the joint. My question is that this must have been like this…

Southern Electric ripping me off? It appears so.
Hello, I didn't want to post about this but feel I have no choice. Let me give you some background- I moved with my flatmate to a small 2 bedroom all-Electric rented flat in December of 2008. My previous large two bedroom house (with three people living in it) had a key meter with Southern Electric, we were not careful…

Crazy Southern Electric Bills
I have been fortunate to have earned good money for too long to shamefully not notice how much I have been paying for my electricity. I am horriried and ashamed. My ex-partner used to deal with bills and for the last year I have paid no attention. I have no gas to the property - only electric. The heating is ceiling…

beware Energyhelpline
I switched through Energyhelpline to Scottish Power Online Energysaver 7 in Nov 2009, was quoted £45.00 as my new dual fuel charges. This sounded quite a bit of saving compared to £60.00 I used to pay to EON before. I was quite surprised as to the difference - £180.00 - but was assured by the adviser that he had the…

Validity of comparison quotes
I notice that in all on line comparison quote sites the price quoted by my present supplier is 20% lower than I am currently paying. Am I correct in assuming that at the end of the first year (usage and unit prices remaining unchanged) I would be 20% in debit and consequently the following year's cost will increase by at…

British Gas Huge profits
So BG have made 58% profit this year what a lovely thing for their shareholders - it's a shame they have only passed on 7% in cuts to customers. Offwatt is as much use as a chocolate fireguard and should have more powers to stop these unfair prices from all of the energy companies or close them down:mad:
