Question about bill etc

I'm getting my pre-payment meters, gas and electric, changed to credit meters on Monday. Scottish Power have told me that my direct debit each month will be £102. I live in a 3 bedroom mid terraced house by myself, I work full time so obviously have no heat or electric on during the day.
I am wondering if this monthly payment of £102 is too expensive. I only moved into this house at the beginning of this month and previously lived with relatives so I do not not how many kw's I will use. Also if I don't use £102 worth of kw's will I be in credit?

Also once Scottish Power has changed the meters, they charged me btw, can I change to another supplier, and if I did what kw's would I base my usage on a comparison site?

Yes if you pay too much, you will build up a credit and they will either give you a refund or reduce your DD.

£102 is probably too high for a single person out at work.

To find out the cheapest tariff go to a comparison website and enter 15,000kWh gas and 3,000kWh electricity for your consumption.

Then try variations on those figures(only takes a minute or so) and a pattern will build up; it will certainly be one of the internet tariffs.

Just be careful that you read the small print of the cheapest tariff.
