I'm going dizzy trying to find the difference between websaver 3 & 6. I'm on 3 but Money supermarket says I'd be £172 better off on 6 - why?

Changing from pp meters to credit meters
I've just moved into a new house. It has gas and electric meters which are pre pay. I would like credit meters as I have a xxxxxx which can sometimes make it difficult to get to the shops to top-up, plus I can get a better tariff with credit meters. Scottish Power have said they will waive the 12 month wait to change the…

Letting agents changed energy suppliers
Hi, We moved into our house 29th December. Rented through a Letting Agent. Energy supplier was N power, who we gave our meter readings to on the same day. At our previous address - supplier was EDF. We arranged with EDF to transfer the supply of new house to them. They said this would take 4-6 weeks, and should have being…

EDF Rep
A chap knowcked on my door this morning from EDF and told me whether I am aware that my current electricity supplier is not passing the lower rates to me. I told him, I am with Scottish Power fixed rate. He went on and on that I am paying too much electricity etc. In the end I told him I am happy to stay with SP. Just…

Sainsbury's energy...anyone had any experience?
Did a price comparison and Sainsbury’s and EDF came out top with a possible £200 saving over year over my current provider (NPower). I defiantly want to switch because I mean it'd be stupid not to but I don’t like EDF's website much so would rather go with Sainsbury’s and wondered if anyone had any experience of them?

He recieved his first estimated bill on 13th aug, which was way over,so we took another reading and the bill was amended. His second estimated bill for the period 13 aug-19 0ct was for £49.57p. This was paid but my son…

Go Direct 3 or Websaver 6
I've been thinking of changing electricity plan or supplier. My current supplier, Southern Electric, suggests I could save money by moving to Go Direct 3. But if I changed to this I am stuck in a year contract and the unit prices may change over the year and so may not end up cheaper in a few months. I'm a little confused…

Hi there I have just brought a house, its an average sized 3 bed mid-terrence house with only me living in it. There is gas fired central heating I keep the house at about 18 degree when I'm there during the winter. I would say I'm an average user of elec. Cooking is gas hob and elec oven. When I moved in the pervious…

Is this a bad time to switch?
Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere. I'm currently in the 14-day cooling-off period whilst switching from Southern Electric to E.ON. I was happy with the potential savings (around £350, hopefully) until I read this piece of advice from an expert on the Guardian website, relating to the recently-announced BG…

Eon Crossed Meters complaint
Hello, I wonder if you guys can help me? I moved into my property on 27th Feb 2009 and set up an account with Eon. Every quarter since then I have recieved enourmous bills, or notification of high bills because they keep reading the wrong meter for my premisies. I told them about this problem in May last year and still to…

Is this a scam??
Hi All Just wanted some advise please? I have today received a letter through my door from e-on, (i've never used e-on as my supplier) and the letter is addressed to the occupier. It states that I need my electricity meter changing as the one I have currently is old and could be producing inaccurate bills. It says the…

Cancelling "Price Guarantee March 2011" with British Gas...
I've just had my latest bill through and seen i've been signed up to British Gas 'Price Guarantee March 2011' I was previously on the 'Price Guarantee December 2009' however it seems they have automatically moved me onto this tarrif. Now i'm guessing there are far cheaper tarrifs out there and my account is also in credit…

Not paying cancellation fee
I'm currently thinking of leaving Scottish Power, but have just noticed that when my initial contract/tarrif ended, they've put my on a tarrif with a "cancellation fee" I did not realise at the time, so yes perhap I should have checked the small print in their email. Anyway, their T&C's state that that they "may" charge a…

British Gas refuse to refund my money
I have an over spend with BG of over £400 in total. I hve emailed twice asking for them to refund me and what they did do was re calculate my gas and electricity direct debits - almost halving my gas and electricity costs every month (£44 to £22 and £30 to £17). Finally I called yesterday asking for the money instead. They…

Scottish Hydro Electric - 'Economy' 10
Just looking for some general opinions here. I've just looked at my electricity meter and estimated that my electricity bill for 27/10/09 - now will be around £360. I suppose for many that would be fairly reasonable at about £120 a month, but I'm a bit gobsmacked. I had a really quite hefty bill for last winter's usage…

How much for utilities...
...for a single person? Hope this is on the right board...? I am moving in to my first home soon and want to roughly calculate how much I can expect my bills to be (water, gas and electric)? It is a small 2 bed flat with just myself living there, it is double glazed with night storage heating, and gas hob/oven. Can anyone…

Energy helpline, uswitch etc
How do people like Energy Helpline.com and Uswitch calculate your annual spend on gas & electricity? Do they use the same method as the energy companies i.e. do they use the daily higher rate method? I ask because there's a difference of over £100 between their figures for my annual energy spend and mine and I use the same…
