British gas home care renewal price shot up from £27 p/m to nearly £40

what is going on?

has anyone successfully haggled it down or cancelled and signed up again at the cheaper online price?

The have started doing risk based pricing so depending on how many time you call them out effects your price after renewal.

However this was brought in to be fairer on customers so when they have no call outs a discount would be applied to reduce there price.

However with all new things it has had some teething problems and even people with no or minimal call outs were getting price hikes like yours.

Give them a call and say you are thinking of going to a competitor because the price is high.

That's what I have as well, covers electrics and drains as well. However I believe it is only available for those who take BG gas and electricity?

Try EON, I left B Gas a couple of years ago.They had put my renewal price up significantly.

I phone B/Gas and they offered to price match. I asked for them to confirm in writing which they agreed to do but no letter arrived so I went to EON.I think I started paying around £13 quid last year. This years has gone up to £14.99 which is still significantly lower than the others.Thats despitehaving called them out 3 or 4 times in the last year
