As you can understand it's a stressful time- we are spending alot of money, but my dual fuel bill arriving has made it so much more worse. I'm not…

My daughter is with Scottish Power and is eager to switch after watching Martin on GMTV. However, what happens to the amount outstanding on her bills. As she pays by direct debit there is always a debit following winter and then it levels itself off over summer. If she were to swtich now would the debt be transferred or…

Capped Confusion - Help!
Having been a big fan on Martin over the years I have taken his advice on many occasions and saved oodles of quids. So, I hung on until I got the “green light” from Martin to change enregy suppliers, and sure enough I was able to save probably 10 percent on my Dual Fuel by making the change. So my new supplier took over at…

guilty ignorance is no defence
I plead guilty because ignorance is no defence! OK Electric here in my part of the woods is been hiked by 30 percent between now and Christmas, and we can’t shop around because we have no alternative suppliers. Anyway I’m hearing that leaving items on stand by such as TV’s, Computers can be a costly mistake that they are…

Gas/electric/water: what would a couple typically pay per month?
Hi I'm about to buy a 2 bedroom house and I'm trying to do a budget planner for my incomings and outgoings. How much would I typically spend per month if using direct debits on each of the three above? Please base any estimates on a house with central heating, double glazing, shower etc

Electric cheaper than Gas heating?
Hi there, We're installing a new heating system in our 1 bed flat soon (we have ancient storage heaters and immersion tanks), and have come across the following link from 4ecotips that says that gas prices will shoot up in the next few years, meaning that electric heating systems are much more economical. The research is…

'Top cap rate ends Monday 2 June'
'...strong rumours are one of the cheapest will end Mon 2 June.' Which energy supplier is it that Martin is referring to? I spent all of yesterday evening and today researching into cutting my energy costs and it's doing my head in. If it is Scottish Power Fixed Price Energy to February 2011 that Martin is talking about,…

British Gas rant!
Sorry for the rant but in February I rang British Gas and registered for the Essentials Tariff, I've got a prepayment meter and was told that the rate would automatically change on the meter but it would take a couple of weeks. After a month I realised that I was still having to put the same amount of money on the meter so…
