56 degrees celsius is hot enough - can you imagine boiling your kettle and then putting your hand in that? I don't think you really mean that you like your water boiling - put it this way I would not get in a bath that is 56 degrees celsius!Mortgage when started October 2011 : £94,134

If this is just the temperature of the hot water to the taps, you should be ok. It could be to do with modern legislation.
Typically in the workplace, the minimum temperature of stored water is recommended to be at least 60degC to avoid the possibility of legionella. (I guess with a combi you don't have a hot water tank) Water at the taps should be a minimum of 50degC. achievable within 1 minute of flushing.(Temperatures exceeding 60degC at the taps pose a significant scalding risk.)
But some places such as hospitals & care homes, hot water must not exceed 43degC to avoid the possibilty of scalding. (43degC is still hot to put your hand into) This however is achieved by the use of thermostatically controlled mixer valves rather than traditional hot taps.
56degC for heating purposes does seem quite low to me though. Is it possible the combi provides water at a higher temperature for heating compared to domestic hot water?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... It says on the manual domestic hot water, Max - Min Temperature of water for domestic use 56 - 36 deg celsius - what do I do?0

Good evening: More info from the IPHE here and here. This boiler has max. CH temperature of 82 C.
To the OP: Any reason why you opted for a Band B boiler instead of the more energy efficient Band A? The DHW max. temperature shouldn't be an issue. The combi is an instaneous water heater i.e. not stored hot water. Do you have a thermostatic shower mixer?

Hi Canucklehead - this is the combi they told me would be best - there is only hubby and I in the house - no chance of kiddies I'm afraid. I don't know what the difference means with the CH temp and the water temp - all I know is I'm in tears worrying after months of indecision I've botched it up - sorry - girlie here, hopefully overreacting.............0

water temp (DHW) = temp of water to be supplied to taps. (Domestic Hot Water) - you say 56degC"Now to trolling as a concept. ....
