Hi - Day two of putting in my combi boiler starts tomorrow and I've just had a sneaky peak at the manual and from what I can gather it only heats the water to 56 degrees celsius - we like our water very hot and prefer to add cold - what should I do ???????

That surely can't be correct! Either for Domestic Hot Water or the CH radiators.

The recommended minimum is 60C I believe.

Yes you are correct, DHW is 56C max and 82C max for CH.

The 60C must be for a NW tank and not a Combi.

However at 56C it will be too hot to put your hand in.

That's correct, as the combi isn't heating a tank of water (like a conventional boiler) there is little point in heating it to 60 (which would require more power or less flowrate).

The only time you are likely to use water above 50 is for washing dishes, for bathing you are probably reducing it to between 40 and 45 deg C

 I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.
