Gas/electric/water: what would a couple typically pay per month?

Hi

I'm about to buy a 2 bedroom house and I'm trying to do a budget planner for my incomings and outgoings.

How much would I typically spend per month if using direct debits on each of the three above? Please base any estimates on a house with central heating, double glazing, shower etc

Almost a 'how long is a piece of string question'!

Depends on so many factors, Size of 2 bed, type of insulation, metered or not for water. out at work or home a lot.

A ballpark figure would be £100 a month.

With that sort of consumption you are probably looking at an annual cost in the region of £600 -£700.

However that is commendably low gas and electrity consumption for a house that is probably over 20 years old.

6,500kWh for gas is less than a third of the UK average of 20,500kWh

1,500kWh for electricity is less than half the UK average of 3,300kWh.

We have a mid terrace three bedroom house and we pay £30 for Gas, £28 for Electricity and £28 for water every month - be even better if all the windows were double glazed I'd imagine!

Not a typical property or lifestyle then, as reflected in the usage.

Maybe not typical, but very similar to Puddles (above) if you add in we are 2 bed, only 2 people, & double glazed.
