New Boiler advice
We are currently paying £147 a month for gas and electric (think it's around £96 electric) with Scottish Power one of their online plans. We cook with gas and have a gas fire and central heating, rest is electric. Is it possible that our very old (19 years) boiler is partially to blame? BG quoted £3.5k for a new one …

Which is a cheaper way to wash up?
I've just had a spooky gas bill and was wondering whether it was cheaper to boil a flat element kettle up to do the washing up, rather than switch the gas boiler on as it's normally off. My home is 3 years old and the boiler is a modern, efficient one. Any ideas please?

Cutting Electricity Costs
We had the shock of our lives the other day when I received a letter from our energy supplier saying they were increasing our monthly payment from £70.00 per month to £107.00 per month (this was off the back of me phoning to see if I could reduce our monthly payment slightly as my husband is currently out of work). I…

What do I need to do?
Up until 12 months ago, we had BG HomeCare and I'm pretty sure that in the two years we had it, BG came and serviced the boiler twice. However, last year, I cancelled HomeCare as, the first time I had to call them out, the repairs needed weren't covered by the agreement....typical! I have just realised that this means we…
