npower dual fuel discount - annual cheque or direct off bills??
guys, been checking out switching, and npower is coming out as£60-odd quid cheaper with £43 back through quidco and simplyswitch. However, read somewhere that the £80 dual fuel discount is in the form of an annual rebate via cheque. Can anyone clarify this please, it may be the deciding factor......

Hi,
Unless they have changed this (someone please correct me if so) they add it to your account. So, you can request it otherwise it gets swallowed up against your DD payments. Although, if they are re-assessing your DD (which they should be at that point as you are reaching your settlement quarter at month 12) they should reduce your DD to compensate.
Why would it be a deciding factor? You would get a reduction in your DD and would get it back, albeit a bit slower. Otherwise, you can always ask them to kepe your DD the same and ask for a cheque.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
It could be the deciding factor as the estimated DD payment for the year is £10 more with this plan than the one I'm on currently with ScottishPower, who always seem to have a higher customer satisfaction rating. Depending on the saving, don't know if it's going to be worth the hassle for a potentially small gain in a year's time.......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

Ok, on the old billing system it added them to the account. They have recently transferred all residential business into 1 system though which should respond the same. That was always their policy from when they bought duel fuel discounts in as it allowed them to keep the cash on their account with you and lower the risk of defaults. They do that with compensation and standards of service payouts unless you ask for a cheque.
Where did you see that they send cheque's?:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
