    Hi,

When changing the meter the engineer will just disconnect the fuse while its done. It shouldn't cause any problems.

Have you changed from 1 rate to 2 rate etc or have you had a like for like change? (recertification)

If you have changed from 2 tail to 1 tail meters then providing no timeswitch was used, I guess the burglar alarm could have been wired in the fusebox to a tail that is not longer connected. It wouldn't be the case with an E7 being pulled out though.

If the meter has stayed the same then it must be something to do with the alarm itself. Have you checked where it comes off in the fusebox?

The visits - where these agreed with your Supplier for a visit date/time? If so, you are entitled to compensation under Ofgems GSOS if they didn't contact you at least 24hrs before to advise you it wouldn't be kept. If it was a recertification, thats for the Meter Operator to compensate you if a firm date/time had been agreed.
