What do I need to do?
Options
Up until 12 months ago, we had BG HomeCare and I'm pretty sure that in the two years we had it, BG came and serviced the boiler twice.
However, last year, I cancelled HomeCare as, the first time I had to call them out, the repairs needed weren't covered by the agreement....typical!
I have just realised that this means we haven't had our boiler serviced for over 12 months now. Please could someone confirm that I'm right in thinking I should have it serviced yearly? Also, how much should I be looking to pay for this?
Is there anything else that needs to be done to the boiler regularly?
Thank you

I don't know whether I should, but I don't bother with boiler servicing. I just rely on a carbon monoxide detector (just in case) and apart from that I wait until something goes wrong and I'll worry about it when it does. My attitude is that if something's going to fail, it's going to fail regardless.
I just did quick search online and found a company quoting £80 inc VAT for a one-off boiler service. A more exhaustive look may find somewhere cheaper.0 -
Good evening: You should have your boiler serviced annually as recommended by the manufacturer...this is vital if you have an open flued appliance...cost will vary according to where you live and the type of boiler i.e. back boiler with fire front will cost more (down here from £60 to £80). The definition of what constitutes an annual service varies...visit this website run by a CORGI in Reading to get an idea..

Thank you both for replying.
I'll have a look online and see if I can find someone local to my area.0
