Local shop stopped Electric & Gas Cards unless you spend spend spend...
Our local Spar as a PayZone terminal, which they have had for years and years. Anyway popped in this morning to put some credit on my Electric/Gas cards (like i've done for over 10 years) only to be turned down by the Assistant. I was told that unless you spend £10 in store you can't take advanage of the PayZone services.…

Do any comparison sites offer Southern Electric online tariff?
I have found that Southern Electric's 'Standard Energy Online No Standing Charge' for gas will be the cheapest for my needs. At the same time I'd like to earn a few quid switching over to this tariff. So far I have been unable to find any comparison sites offering this particular tariff. Can anyone suggest any comparison…

My moms electricity switches from Ebico to British Gas Click 3 today but we are somewhat confused by how BG are going to obtain a meter read. Help Me .... How Much is My Electricity?
OK, this should be an easy one. All I want to do is work out how much my electricity is going to cost me. I moved into a flat 2 weeks ago and I have the electricity readings. 20 units per week. Now, I think I am on swalec for electricity. It is a meter, not pre-payment. I have NO idea if there's any Economy 7. But, all I…

I lost my job back in July and had a rubbish temping job which I also lost (through no fault of my own I must add!) Anyway, my NPower bill arrived and I thought I could pay it but come the end of the month, I realised that I couldn't and at the end of the day, rent is more important. Upon receiveing my reminder, I called…

NPower problems
I am having problems with npower (who doesn't!) I moved to a new supplier in July and provided them with the meter reading, as well as providing it to npower to close out that account. Npower have told me that I am lying as the reading is way below what they expect (my reading is 23651, they estimate 24910) based on a…

Credit rating hurt by British gas
After I had moved out of a rented property I got a british gas bill for an amount of gas after I had moved out, and before the next tenant had moved in. I wasn't going to pay it and I told them when I moved out and disputed it for a long time, during which BG went through 2 credit collection agencies. The first decided…

EBICO call
Just had a call from an obviously Indian-located call centre chappie claiming to represent my gas supplier EBICO who I am moving from to Scottish Power. Started trying to talk me round into staying but was quoting rates for first 1193 kWh and then X thereafter but EBICO AFAIK have only one rate for gas - I checked online…

British Gas - negligent?
Hi, British Gas wrote to me a few months ago, saying my gas meter was very old & needed replacing. Upon inspection, I saw they were right - it has rusty pipes, the off switch is very awkward to get to & difficult to turn, and the bracket holding it onto the wall is also rusty (I have mentioned all of this to them). They…

Scottish power capped???
Hi, when Scottish Power offered a further year of capped prices it sounded good, however since January this year my monthly payment has gone from £51 to £70.50! We don't have gas and although there's nearly always someone at home 24/7 we're not extravagent (roughly 8800kwh per annum). I've tried the comparison sites to see…

Who Knows Free Telephone Number of Scottish Power
Who knows any landline telephone number or 0800 / 0500 number for the Customer Service Dept of Scottish Power? They always asked customers to ring their 0845 number which will charge 4-5p per minute! BTW, my ntl package allows free landline calls so ideally I am looking for a landline no. for SP. Their sales team with a…

Warning - Bogus phonecall from someone pretending to be my supplier
Today I have received 2 phonecalls from someone claiming to be my gas and electricity supplier telling me that I am on a business tariff by accident and that I should be intitled to 5 years worth of refunds. "Great" I thought until they started talking about my phone too. Knowing that my phone isn't provided by the same…

Using someone elses tokens?
A friend is moving from token meter to quarterly billing. She has a couple of electric tokens left, and has asked if I'd like to buy them off her to use in my meter. Does anyone know if this would affect my account in any way? Thanks.
