electricity on the key - EDF
i live in a council flat and have electricity on the key. last night a man from edf knocked on all the flats including ours telling us about a new key there offering. basically a different company supplys our current eleccy key so when we pay our electricity some money goes to the electricity board and some goes to the key supplier meaning higher costs.
he was offering us a key that edf will supply supposidly cutting out the middle man and resulting in us saving up to £10 per month on prepaid electricity.(meaning instead of £20 lasting one month it will last 6 weeks)
he said it was free but wanted us to sign a supply contract. apparently it was just to say that they will supply our keys etc from now on. but i didnt want to sign without getting it checked out first.
Has anyone been offered anything like this from edf for prepaid electricity?

The stuff he has told you is absolute nonsense. The reason they want you to sign a contract is not just to get a new key, but to change supplier.
Do a comparison on energyhelpline, find out who the cheapest provider is, and switch to them.0 -
This is a sales con.
Every Supplier pays for your electricity to the local Distributor, they then pay into the grid.
You've had a dodgy salesman trying to lead you astray to get a commission out of you.
I had a guy trying to do this at my property by discussing my neighbours property! I reminded him that I used to work for the company he was plugging and he very sharply get to the point and left!:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
i did a comparison he's £30 a month saving doesnt compare to there site which says a £10 monthly saving.
either way i wasnt interested and tore up the contract0
