Warning - Bogus phonecall from someone pretending to be my supplier

Today I have received 2 phonecalls from someone claiming to be my gas and electricity supplier telling me that I am on a business tariff by accident and that I should be intitled to 5 years worth of refunds. "Great" I thought until they started talking about my phone too. Knowing that my phone isn't provided by the same supplier as my gas and electric alarm bells started ringing. So as soon as that phonecall ended I called my gas/electric supplier to make sure and sure enough it was a bogus call. I am on a residential tariff and they don't owe me any money. The call was from a company who were trying to trick me into changing suppliers.
If you get a call from anyone claiming to be your gas/electric supplier don't give them any details. Try to get as many details from them as you can such as the company they work for, their name, a returning phonecall, the name of their supervisor etc etc and give these details to your gas/electric supplier as they have had quite a few people who have had the same call.

They have rang again today and this time I managed to catch the company name and made a note of the number.
The company name was Network Electricity and the number they rang from was 01204 898033. She hung up when I asked her for a contact name.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

Exactly the same thing happened to me twice today. (01204) 898033 tried to contact me and I rang them back - obviously 141 infront of my number. The lady answered the phone was very abrupt and intent on gaining information on me...which I refused to pass over. After eventually getting where she was calling from (Network Electricity) she promptly ended the phone call with a torent of petulant choice words.
People beware! I have contacted Trading Standards as my present circumstances don't require me to have any dealings with any energy suppliers.
I would also advise people to register on the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) at http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/0 -

haha Please don't think my post was intent on causing offence to people from Bolton. I have no issues with natives of Greater Manchester.
Kind regards,
