I have a bit of spare…

Overpaying mortgage vs paying into pension
Hi all,This is a rather specialist question I guess. My mortage doesn't actually finish until I'm 69. Initially, the idea was that if we overpay £100 odd a month, then I'd be able to retire mortgage free.My pension is currently making over 5% a year interest. Mortgage interest is currently 2%. Lowell - Credit File and Statute Barred
Hi I have 3 accounts which were sold to Lowell. They have all been with Lowell between 4-5 years now. I have not paid anything to them at any stage and I also did the 3 letter process but they did not wipe the balance like they do a lot of people. So the continued “missed payments” on my credit file is keeping my score…

Debt Advice Appreciated
Hi All, My story seems to be similar to a few people on this forum in that over a number of years my debt had gradually increased and had been juggling the debt across 0% interest cards without taking into consideration what was actually happening. It was around October last year that reality dawned on me and I was about…

What small DFW things will you do this week 17/05/21?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

Found I have a ccj
Hi all, The parking forum suggested I post here. I found I have a ccj issued mid April this year when I checked my credit report today. We moved house 18 months ago and I guess the court papers went to our old address. The fine is under £200. I realise I could probably ask for it to be set aside at a cost of £225, but…

Coud this be withdrawn
Hi Everyone, As part of our snowball method we are lucky to have quite a big chunk of our debt on 2 barclaycards that have an offer of 6.9% for the life of the balance. This is good as it saves us a lot of potential interest. We're doing a snowball method so at the moment we are just paying the minimum on these 2 cards and…

Penalty charge/fee for paying off an interest free debt early?
I have what they call a managed loan from hsbc for a card i got into difficulty a few years ago. They kindly agreed to freeze the card and the interest and let me pay it off monthly over a few years.
